It's not like we don't do it anyways. I mean, I was like 14 when I had my first drink. I mean, I am so pissed. I can't even use my sister's ID since she is in Tennesee now. It sucks that my friends have to buy me my drinks. And it sucks because the only thing they can buy me are shots or we would get caught and get thrown out. and when we go out, they get a braclet and I get a big X or N or something stupid on my hand. Why does my life suck so much. I wish my sister was back in Cali.

The reason why they do not is because the liver does not fully mature until one is 21 yrs of age...I know it bites....and that those who are 18 and older can go off to war, and those of 18 and older can smoke ciggarettes, but the law is the law....sorry...

For the same reason why the speed limit around here is still 65. People still drive 70 to 85 and feel that's not much more then 65 so it's ok. If they made the speed limit 85 then people would then drive (or try to drive) faster from a then higher limit.
Also, Do you have any idea how many death acre due to under age drinking? Most young adults are not capable of making the right choices even while sober.

It's not your life that sucks ... If your doing it already then it really shouldnt be that big of a deal .. And think about it .. If they did move the age limit to 18 ... IT WOULDN'T BE AS MUCH FUN .. I mean the thrill of the fact that your NOT SUPPOSED to be drinking and you are .. avoiding getting caught .. its like street racing .. an adrenaline rush ... Eventually it will be lowered .. But till then just enjoy being young .. having fun and acting crazy .. ONE DAY SOMEONE IS GOING TO WANT YOU TO BUY THEM DRINKS AND THEY WILL FEEL THE SAME WAY YOU DO .. And you'll feel special!!!

It is the federal government...
A state can have a drinking age of 18 but then the federal govt withholds highway funds from the states. Because of the highway money, the states get on their hind legs and act like trained poodles begging for a bone.....
Personally, I think this is unconstitutional because the Feds are using blackmail to make the states do what they want but Big Govt judges in the courts say this is OK....
So which would you rather have coca-cola or beer and potholes? :)

When I read the first sentence, I was so ready to agree with you. Gosh, we can send an 18 year old to vote, to fight for his country, but he can't drink a beer. But as I continued to read, I couldn't help but think alcohol is just a little to important to you, so maybe its a good thing that the age limit is 21. You can have a good time without it, and if you can't, you need to find out why. Not only that, but why waste all your money in a bar?

maybe your life sucks because you are drinking. If the legal drinking age was dropped to 18, teens would want it dropped to 16 and even lower. It's 21 for a reason. >L

because they do not know everyone, if they let all 18 year olds drink and because it's legal to drive at 16 without an adult in the car there would be allot more death's, i am sure your more deaths and it's not your fault.

thats the reason why they dont raise the age of drinking because of immature kids like you. you think you are ready to drink when actually you are ready for counceling. all teenagers think they are ready to drink ,when really they cant handle liquor at all. your body is not fully mature yet and you are harming yourself. that why you have to wait till you are 21. dont worry a couple more years, 3 more to be exact. dont worry it will fly by. i say you go back to school and take a couple of anger management classes. and dont try to grow up to fast. stay young. good luck.
