He may be right. There are SOME Christian fundamentalists that will go to hell because they have a lot of hate in their hearts. Jesus was about love and acceptance--I don't think he'd enjoy hanging out with some of them. On the other hand, there are some CFs that are really good people, down to their core. There's a wide range within the Atheist community, too!

Well, Biblicaly speaking, there is no such place as the hell the fundamentalist believe in. And there is a God that the atheist don't believe in.

So, your Uncle Bob is wrong.

However! They will sure both feel like they are in hell when God starts pouring out His vengeance on the earth. Vengence on the Atheist for not believing in God, and the Fundamentalist for not believing what He says.

Well, I understand your uncle's attitude if it's what I think it is. But naaaaaaaaaaaa, no one will go to hell according to MY beliefs. I'll explain (at least to a point)- I believe in God and all that jazz. Sometimes I would actually like to call myself a Christian, but I HATE the label because of the way many Christians are. I believe in many so called Christian beliefs. It would take quite a long time to explain. My beliefs are kind of wrapped up in a lot of different things.

Hell? Yes, I believe it's in existence. Do I believe people will go there? Actually, NOT AT ALL! Without getting into what I believe regarding hell, I will say this.... I do believe that people who CLAIM to be Christians, but who are hypocrites, will suffer more than others (as I believe ALL hypocrites will). I just believe that hypocrites will suffer more than many. That's just me.

I'm not even going to attemp to go into all that I believe. But I do want to make a point of saying that I recognize the difference between beliefs and facts. I know the difference and will NEVER TRY TO IMPOSE WHAT I THINK OR BELIEVE ON ANYONE.

That being said, I guess I need to shut up because I feel that I'm just blabbing. LOL. Sorry.

It's a plausible theory considering that fundamentalists are more likely to preach hate (toward women, gays, other religions) than atheists are. You don't often see atheists screaming that someone is going to go to hell - but that's probably because atheists don't believe in a hell. Anyway, if there is a heaven then it's for nice people and the atheists I know are nicer than the fundies I know, so I agree with Uncle Bob.

well first of all atheists can not go somewhere they do not believe in. Thats like me telling you that if you do anything bad this year you will get nothing from santa clause on christmas...now you know santa doesnt exist and you do not believe in him ....so why would it make a difference to you if you are naughty or nice....well same here.....now fundamentalist christians do believe in hell and do believe in god so therefore they will more than likely go to hell for not really paying good attention to their beliefs and etc. me personaly I got over the tooth fairy, santa, easterbunny, and all the other invisible friends a long time ago so i have no need to care who goes where because it doesnt exists and I hope this helped you and if it didnt well sorry

one love,
ANGEL

Only if your Uncle Bob knows the state of the souls and hearts of those he is speaking about. Did God step down from His throne and give the job of judgement to your Uncle Bob? I didnt think so!! Only God can judge what is in a persons heart and soul, no one else. Peace and God Bless

I have a hard time believing you two have an Uncle "Bob," but it wouldn't surprise me a bit. Maybe the two will hold hands on the way down.

He is right. There is no bigger oxymoron than "christian fundamentalist". There is absolutely no room for fanatisism in the life of a Christian.
