Lately I've been what I title as "Benson" fishin' ie,' kickin' back, relaxin', taken everything in fishin' for Trout usin' Meal Worms and Pistol Pete Flies, but most importantly mentally gearin' up for a good Steelhead and Salmon run up north ;) :)... Brandon have a statement followed up with a question for ya', you must be the type of man that is capable of, "walkin' and chewin' gum at the same time" (somethin' I ain't been able ta' ever do!!@%!x!) ;) nowwww the question, how in "tar-nation", did ya' manage ta' take a shot as in your last pic with rod in one hand and camera in the other ;) ;) ??? By the way nice lookin' Bass!

Nice fish! On a topwater no less!
Wish I could get out more often to fish but I've got 3 children, 2 jobs, and I live in MN now!
Minnesota has tons of Bass, but they don't get over 5-6 pounds. There state record is like 8 1/2 Lb's, (I use to catch these in Lake George, Palatka, all the time!)
It's amazing when you tell people up here that you like to Bass fish. They look at you funny and say,"Bass don't taste too good, eh.", (lol).
Walleye's are the "fish of choice" followed closely by Crappie. So, there are just TONS of Bass all over, ('course you KNOW you won't be catching no 8 + pounders). And they are super-easy to pattern. FLA bass can be a "pain" to figure out, compared to MN fish. Catching 25-30 MN Bass is not uncommon,('course you KNOW you won't be catching no 8+ pounders, lol).
I get "homesick" for Jacksonville ,FLA fishing ALL the TIME! (lol)
I know places in the St. Johns where you can catch an 8 LB "Red" on 1 stump, a 6 LB Bass on another stump, and a 4 LB Flounder on the next. Obviously, a "diverse" ,fun, fishery.
Currently, in MN, "Bass Season" isn't even OPEN! And the water is sooooo dang COLD!
Need I say more? (lol)

Sadly, with the wind whipping, and preparations for the IFA tournament's captain's dinner at my work in full swing, the report from my end is nothing but hearsay. Conditions have been choppy and tiring on my end of the Lagoon without having to wake up stupid-early (sorry, not doing... I sleep poorly enough as is without getting up earlier than I have to... tempted from time to time, yes, but other than that....)
There's fish out there though, our charter captains have been coming in and bragging (I think it's just because they know it drives me nuts.), and of course, there's a big redfish thing going on this weekend, so the trout should be biting like mad. ;)
Anyway, nice to see that everyone else is getting to catch some.

Nice Florida bass Brandon! That first one is nice fish. I wish I went fishing today but I didn't and the next time I'll go fishing for sure is in a couple weeks. I might go fishing this weekend but I highly dought it. Next time I go I'll try to take pictures and post them but I'm not promising anything. Anyway looks like you had a great time.

I have not been able to do much "fun" fishing lately...I have either been pre-fishing or fishing a tournament for about the past month and a half...prefished for a club tournament of the Chattahoochee/ Lake Eufaula, AL from the middle of April to the end...did not catch a keeper fish (Using Carolina Rigged Zoom Green pumpkin Utail Worm with the tail dyed Chart. and a Chart and White Spinner bait with a white grub trailer w/ tail dyed Chart and a Shakey head with a Greenpumpkin Red Zoom finesse worm)...did catch a 5 lb Hybrid...tournament day...caught two keepers a 12in Spot and a 3lb Large Mouth...finished 7th (Caught all fish off of spinner bait) I had a Large Mouth that weighed about 1 1/2 lbs...but it was 13 3/4in long...there was a 14in limit on Large Mouth...prefished for club tournament on Lake West Point, GA...caught several nice keeper Spots... Tournament day caught one keeper Spot, finished 14th...the guy I was fishing with won with four nice Spots...(Prefished with Carolina Rigged Zoom Greenpumpkin Utail Worm with tail dyed Chart...on T day caught fish on a Zoom Watermelon Candy Finesse Worm tail dyed on a Shakey Head...could not stick the fish that bit the C-rig that day...very tough day....) My partner caught two of his on a Watermelon Finesse Worm on a Shakey Head and two on a C- Rigged Watermelon Lizzard (Tails dyed) all Zoom baits...I am going to start Prefishing for Charity T on Eufaula, AL and Club T on Jordon, AL next weekend...going to parents house in North GA this weekend and going to "fun" fish my pond...have a good one...
