People who join the military overwhelmingly do so for the best of reasons with the purest of motives (cannot exactly quantify this but I do believe it).
Those who misuse the military for political and commercial gain are the ones we should despise.

Whoever told you that...is so misinformed!
Speaking as a Gulf War I Vet, I never killed any babies or innocent civilians and none of my Army buds did either.
Joining the Military is something that should make you proud!
The only sin I see here is committed by the person who told you that.
To be so cold to think like that about our BRAVE Troops putting their lives on the line for all of America!
Sure sometimes innocents become casualties of War but it is not done on purpose (At least by American Troops).
There are a few Troops that have done questionable things but don't blame the entire Military for the actions of a few!
I was and still am Proud to have served in the Military.
America is my Homeland and I will defend it with my life if need be and I most certainly do not feel like a sinner for it.
I have a question for you...
Does the person who told you that support the terrorist's?
Because to me they are the killers of innocents, baby killers etc.

That is just so wrong. The Jihadists there have killed more innocents than any US soldier. There were children on at least 2 of the planes that were used on 9./11. Those jihadists had to have looked into the eyes of both of those children, heard their screams and they still did what they did. How many have seen the photos of the thousands of villagers killed when Saddam ordered poison gas attacks on their villages. I've seen them, pictures that include the body of a woman dead with the body of her infant craddled in her arms.
Our soldiers are trying to stop these things.
"The only thing required for evil to flourish, is for good men to do nothing."---Winston Churchill
Tell your friend that is joining the military that he/she is a good man/woman and that you are proud of them for making a courageous choice. Just because one doesn't agree with the current war does not mean one should not serve. We could face a new threat at any time, there are a lot of wackos in the world (Korea, Iran) and we need to have people in our military trained and ready for any event that may occur in this world. Most Americans never would have thought of an even like 9/11 happening. Even if we weren't in the middle of the war on terrorism, we need to be ready today for what tomorrow might bring.

The military is doing exactly what they are supposed to be doing. People who say things like that have no concept of life in this world. If that is how that person feels, they should never become a member of the military and should keep their mouth shut while being extremely grateful that we have a great military.
I am extremely repulsed by your question and wish you would just delete it. You have no idea how that effected the Viet Nam vets. I can't believe anyone would repeat that stupid,
stupid misguided error.

I haven't killed any babies, nor has anyone in my unit killed a baby. The person who told you that your friend was a baby killer deserves a kick in the junk.

Well that person who gave you that advise is very misguided and probably just needs a hug and a swift kick in the ***!!!! his mommy paid no attention to him or her. send your friend a note saying how proud you are of them and how much you respect them, and how much you stand behind them. Don't listen to any of these morons, because there opinions do not matter.

This just makes me furious, there are some stupid, stupid people running around. I love the fact that the ones that do all this big talking probably are too cowardly to serve in the military. It is really easy to talk a big game .Please, don't listen to these people, they don't have a clue.

Tell your friend that America did nothing to deserve Sept. 11, 2002. Your military friend is a hero and you should support his very difficult choice to protect this country against those who hate us.
As for your friend full of hate, they have my pity, cause they have no clue. They probably listen to too much TV.
