I have a hump on the back of my neck with inflammation/pain particularly if I walk or overexert myself. This pain is somewhat in my neck but primarily in my groin, arms, hands and feet. Bloodwork did not indicate ANA or R. Arthritis. I am hypothyroid (treated). My gyno recently prescribed antidepressant thinking this was all nerve pain - it helped the pain however I did not like the side effects of the medication.

Any suggestions on calming nerve pain, particularly in the neck, on a long-term basis. My chiropractor helps but the symptoms return quickly. Has anyone used anything for calming nerves? Has anyone had any of these symptoms?

Thank you.

there are different medications for nerve pain, such as Lyrica. These are only through prescriptions by a medical doctor. I think you need to go back to your doctor and ask for a specific nerve pain drug. nerve pain is much harder to control than muscle pain. I understand how you feel about antidepressant medicines , but some of them have less side effects such as Paxil. Go over all of this with your medical doctor. I hope this helps.
