For some reason, I feel as though this section is starting to make me go the other way and lose my faith.

Has this section had this negative effect on you too?

I don't know. I think it may be some of the answers that I see people write to people.

Like the answers that the Muslim guy got from other Christians. Just all the hate. I am just really starting to doubt myself.

Don't doubt yourself because of things people say here. If it's starting to affect you in that way, then just back off for a while, and don't come in here. Take a break. Collect yourself and your thoughts.
Sometimes this section can be a little emotionally draining, because it's about a subject that is extremely sensitive, and more sensitive to some people than others. Step back and take a breather.

No it does not effect mine. If I have to get it from hear my faith would be smaller than a mustard seed. With all the attacks on religion from the left and a lot of religious leaders messing up this is the least of my worries. Just remember one day you may save someone! And to that end it is worth all you see and hear, so don't be down Be strong and Exercise your faith to become a 250 pound heavy weight not a 100 pound light weight..

This forum is an anonymous, no holds barred, sparring center. It is not known for credible or healthy debate. It is twisted in many ways.

Do you really believe that genuine Christians would act with hate? The fruits of the spirit are many, including love, patience, kindness, and humility.

Do you go to church regularly, or do you just read Yahoo Q&A?

If you are insecure in your faith, then you should stay away from places like this.

Remember. Satan is called the acuser of the saints. His only purpose is to murder and deceive. Most poeple here are deceived. I suspet that many are Christian in name only, based upon their ungodly answers.

So do not let emotions based upon the unstable Yahoo Q&A shape your faith or philosophy of life.

I went through the same thing but not because of this place. Gradually what I thought was negativity actually became positive when I realized I was breaking free from years of indoctrination. Some of the questions posed on this site are fascinating if you can keep an open mind.

It is not a negative effect, it is a positive step into a rational world. Without religion we would not have religious wars. We would then have the time to try to solve mankind's many other problems. The evolving future belongs only to those who do not wear the shroud of superstition and the blinders of intolerance.

Actually, it made me dig deeper into the Word. I see quite a selection of people:
atheists - they just want to argue and find things to blame problems on others.
deceived - self titled
hypocrites - those who say one thing and live another
You want opinion, this has all the flavors.
You want Truth, the Holy Spirit will confirm it in your heart, in accordance with Scripture.
Truth is Someone, not something.

You probably shouldn't be here if your faith is not strong. I've ffound that demons hang out like groupies in Christian chat rooms. They want to discourage you, and make you feel like you don't belong, or you're stupid. Those of us who know Christ are not intimidated by this, and use this as a witnessing opportunity: How about you? You might need to just get off the computer. The devil uses it big time in these days.

I go to a catholic school and i am not catholic. My school has a lot of "shove the catholic religion down the protestants throats and convert them" teachers and i feel that i don't want to ever convert if all they believe is to spread their beliefs.

This section DOES make me feel that way, which is why i do not read into it much XD

Maybe it is causing you to think and reason instead of taking everything you hear from the circle around you and from the pulpit as gospel truth. I was like that for years and years until I immersed myself into studying just for me...without the words and doctrines of the church.

Not exactly. It is a vampire of my time and my energy. I do feel somewhat more distant from the mystery and awe of life, but I am not sure that this is the primary contributor to that. Perhaps I need to get away for a while....
