no matter what, you do have to excercise to lost that much weight, but i am guessing you only hate it because you are not doing the right thing. call around to your local gyms to find a class that you would enjoy. i reccommend pilates, but maybe a jazzercise class or a swim team or learning to surf would be more up your ally. try a "boot bamp" to jump start your weight loss (again, at a local fitness studio). they are usually expensive, difficult and really really effective. buy some workout DVDs. (make sure you do some excercise every single day--about 45 minutes)

no sugar (try giving it up all week and just eating it on fridays...)

no TV. anything is better than TV as far as losing weight.

don't base it on weight. instead, have your mom take a before picture of you in your undies and then don't look at it for like three weeks. take another one and compare.

try doing one minute of crunches every night. you can do ANYTHING for one single minute.

get a weight loss book. try "toning for teens" (whether or not you are a teenager--it's a really good book.

shop full--the easiest way to not eat junk is to not buy it and you are more likely to put it in your cart if you are hungry. and just DON'T walk down the ice cream aisle. make a shopping list.

go to the library and check out a bunch of recepie books. not dessert ones.

get your family on your side: they can be supportive. and if they are not in on your plan they can be detrimental to your new lifestyle without even knowing it.

the biggest thing is to remember is that if you fail in something, try again. just keep working at it and you will succeed. good luck!!!

find calorie/fitness calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have lean meat (protein) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio exercise 4-6 times a week for 30-50min, light weight training
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, past etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried, oily.
ofcourse you can spoil yourself once in a while with a little treat:)

i was looking this up and it said all you have to do is eat less calories than you do. If you eat 3000 calories a day you should eat about 2500 calories. if you do this you will lose about a pond a week, and that is the most healthy way to lose weight. even though you dont physically exercersize you lose weight for what ever you do. even sitting still will make you lose calories!

i lost 30 lbs from this past september to december; i used michael thurmonds 6 week extreme body makeover. i have kept off all the weight since then- although since it is kind of a restrictive diet, you need to be sensible and control yourself when you are at your goal weight

the thing i thought you might find attractive is that i did not exercise once to lose the 30 lbs, the plan gives you the right foods and times of day to eat so your body turns into a fat burning machine.

you eat fruit/vegetables, protein (chicken/fish) and carbs (rice/ potatoes)

it works if you stick to it.

After many years of research and my own personal struggle with obesity, I've found the most effective has the been the use of crack cocaine. Not only does it supress my appetite, but I'm also constantly out of money to purchase food with.

Seriously, you need to exercise and eat a balanced diet. Ask your doctor about the possibility of REAL weight loss medications.

I believe the that in order to lose weight, you have to remain in a calorie deficit. This simply means that you have to eat less calories than you burn each day. You can do this without any additional exercise, though I don't necessarily recommend it.

Imagine that calories are money and your body is your checking account. In order to reduce the size of your checking account, you would need to spend more money than you earn.

There are two ways to calculate the number of calories you need to eat per day to burn fat and lose weight.

The first is the "quick and dirty" estimate to determine how many calories you need per day to lose 1 pound per week.

Take you weight (lets use 160 pounds, for example) and multiply by a energy estimate. If you exercise 1 to 2 hours per week, then multiply your weight by 13 (There are adjustments for more or less exercise - see the sources below).

160 x 13 = 2080 calories per day

This would be the estimate for the number of calories you would need per day to maintain your current weight.

One pound of fat equals 3500 calories, so to burn 1 pound of fat each week, you need to subtract 500 calories from 2080.

2080 - 500 = 1580 calories

Of course this is only an estimate. If you find that you are losing weight too fast (more than a pound or two per week), then you should eat a little more. If you are losing less than a pound per week, you can eat a little less, or exercise a little more.

A more exact way to determine the number of calories you should eat per week is to calculate your basal metabolic rate, and multiply this number by your total daily expenditure to get the number of calories you burn per day (this is the amount of money you spend).

Then subtract 500 from this number to get the number of calories you need to eat per day to burn fat (the amount of money you should earn). It is not a hard to calculate as it sounds, and the website below lays out an easy to follow step by step process.

You will notice with both the calculations, that the more you excercise (the more money you spend), the more you will be able to eat (the more money you can earn) and still keep your checking account in a deficit.

I hope that helps!

Join social activities that keep you up and moving, things like salsa dance class, golf, paintball, go-karting, cycling trips etc. The key point is to have fun! Ask your friends to join you.

Eat smaller portions in the evenings and nights. Go for long leisurely walks after dinner.
