Over time waxing will damage the hair follicle, making the hair much thinner each time. Also, because you're not blunting the end as with a razor, the hair grows back wispier. Anyone that says it's a myth obviously hasn't had experience as an esthetician. I have been a cosmetologist for almost 8 years and before that I got my lip waxed a lot--bad family trait for us Russian ladies. I haven't gotten my lip waxed in a few years and the hair is still thinner than before. It will not make your hair go away altogether, unless the follicle has had serious damage (ie very hot wax, improper waxing, etc.)

No, it last anywhere from 2-4 weeks before you will need to re-wax. With multiple waxings over time the hair that will grow back will generally be finer.

waxing will not permanently remove hair. only laser treatments can do that. after waxing, the hair growns back within 1-2 wks.

if you wax for years and years and years eventually the follicle will die. but it's not very noticeable. one follicle at a time over many years.
