I am trying to find out the meaning of conocimientos... and if anyone know what the -mientos ending is for... please help.

Ok here is the sentence I saw it used in...

Nuestra economía tiene la necesidad de emplear a personas con conocimientos especiales y técnicos con experiencias,además de que alqún .... blah blah blah

yes, it's from conocer.
Conocimientos means knowledge or understanding.
In this context:
Our economy needs to employ people with specific technical knowledge, with experience, besides the fact that some....

By the way, "conocimiento" (singular) means consciousness, as in losing or regaining consciousness.

Conocimientos would be specific information, talents or skills in relation to a topic.

Miento is a suffix added to a root to make it a noun.
Sentimiento - feeling (from sentir)
Sufrimiento - suffering (from sufrir)
