what i need to know what engine will work to replace it .it will be used in a dune buggy i have a nissan to vw adapter i am useing a swing axle trans what i need is a engine that will bolt to the same trans as my L20B engine or better someone have connecting rod and piston

so what you are saying is this motor is junk its only a 1980 thats not that old . but it is a nissan use till it brakes than throwaway and buy a chevy

you can buy crate engines (complete engines, ready to install) with about 30-60 K on them for about the same money (often less) than rebuilding them.

Your talking antique now. I haven't worked on a L-20B motor in Years. What is that a Carburator? I don't miss working with points and condencers either. I would use a modern motor. Or check the trans adapt web site for other more modern choices. Check Nissan Performance dot com and see if there is some one that has internal engine parts. Wrecking yards. Not those modern dismantlers...
