I used to drink 3 cans of coke a day, and even though I have always eaten relatively healthy and exercised regularily I never seemed to be able to budge my weight... I ended up swaping over to 3 cans of coke zero a day about 6 months ago in hope to lose that last 10 kilo's ... well I had no change, except for a bad headache that I started to get at 3pm every day.. Now I have finally used all my will power and am drinking only Water allday, (and If I do start to crave the fizzy stuff, I have a sparkling mineral water with lemon slices in it to stop my craving).. I have been very good for the last 10 days, Do you think that I will be able to get rid of this weight now?? as I am starting to crave coke again, but keep telling myself that it is not worth it... although I am thinking about treating myself to one can a week... what do you think?

find calorie/fitness calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have lean meat (protein) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio exercise 4-6 times a week for 30-50min, light weight training
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, past etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried, oily.
ofcourse you can spoil yourself once in a while with a little treat:)

The caffeine could be giving you headaches, but if you're drinking it consistently every day you might actually have a problem with the sweetener used in Coke Zero, aspartame (nutrasweet). Try switching to something that uses sucralose (ie - Splenda) instread. The Diet Rite brand of soda is pretty good.

I don't think the diet coke is holding you back. As somebody else said it all comes down to calories unless you have diabetes or some other medical condition that might make it difficult to diet. The general recommendation is eat less and exercise more.

Some people are over exercising and under eating though. Just make sure you're getting a healthy amount of calories by using one of those online calculators [I've linked one below.]

one can a week is ok the problem with soda isnt the one can, it doesnt contain that many calories it having 21/week that adds up to about 2/3 of a pound of fat. My suggestion have a can or two a week so you dont binge or fall back into bad habits. Im dieting now and exercising and after many tries and being to drastic each time I binged and then felt terrible I now eat 300 calories more and exercise daily but at a normal amount and every two weeks I have 1 excusable pig out day and Im doing way better now Im happier and not obssesing and the pounds are still falling off slightly slower but Im happy and can stick to this you should do the same

the only way to lose weight is if your calorie outtake is greater than intake so just get a meter but as far as 3 cans of coke thats not really that bad at all i mean were not all lookin to be rail thin here its just the caffeine givin you headaches so just drink a can or 2 of coke a day youll be fine. its hard but some ppl like me just loose weight a lot slower than others

this is basically undesirable in case you do it on a daily basis. as quickly as in a protracted mutually as, is okay. factor is, there are various energy in coke, and sugar. So now you would be able to desire to computer screen what you consume something of the day. 3 cans of coke and 3 slices of pizza could be terrible to your well being. So cut back out any fat or sugary meals.

Tell yourself your too good for coke. :]
anyways, diet coke is horrible for the human body;
you know, with all of those artificial sweetners in it.
A lab was testing sweet and low on rats, they died within a few days.
Sad, right?
But mineral water is the absolute best way to stomp a sugar crave.
If youre desperate for something sweet and fizzy, try sprite zero.

Have you ever heard of Diet Coke? Or better yet, Diet Dr Pepper. It doesn't contain the acids that Coke does.
BTW the headaches were caused by cutting out the caffeine.
Jessica, my dear, cite your source.

One weight-control principle I apply is: all in moderation. Totally avoiding certain "sinful" food tend to create cravings that will be harder to control soon. You can drink maybe half a glass of your favorite soda, but you should also try to eat fruits and vegetables. Eating small amounts of food frequently is more effective than crash-dieting.
