No animals were carnivores before the fall because there was not death until Cain killed Abel. And all the animals were tame in the perfect world before the fall. The snake had appendages of some sort until the fall, when God told the serpent that he would crawl on his belly from then on and eat dust.

Well, they ate plants, I don't know if it was grass in particular that they ate.

Define "Fall". ... Grasses didn't evolve 'til ~55-60 mya (quite a while after dinosaurs) and snakes lived long before that.
