Get the Rav4. The interior looks pretty nice and it looks bigger than the Escape. Its also more reliable and Toyotas have less problems.

I have a 2004 Ford Escape. I don't dislike the vehicle, but I wish I had spent a little more and bought a Toyota Rav4.

There is nothing wrong with my escape (now with 50,000 miles) I never had any trouble with it, but when I was looking to trade it in this year and buy another vehicle, I was told that the trade-in value was about $4-5K (Originally $22K). I was most upset about that and decided to continue driving the Escape for another couple of years.

I think the Rav4 would have held its value more than the Ford. That's my main reason for suggesting the Toyota.

If you want essentially better fuel mileage and reliability. Then i would go with the toyota rav4. It will be your money's worth in the end. Plus the the car appreciates better than ford as well. Just in case you need to sell it stat in an emergency. Ford's cars are mostly produced in mexico, and therefore should be just a smig cheaper, but there not. When i get into a ford, it generally has cheaper parts.

I just bought American..but would NOT buy a Ford. They have way too many problems. I bought a Buick Rendezvous. It was $20,500 plus taxes. But if you want a smaller SUV, go for the Toyota. I have never heard negative things about it. This is what you should do: go to Yahoo's Home page, in the left column just under "Answers" there is Autos...click this on and put in the 2 or 3 cars you are thinking about buying a click on reviews. Thats how I decided on my Buick. Most, but of course not all reviews were good and I am very happy with it. Have been driving it for 7 months now. But it is bigger than the Escape and RAV

I have recently been in both models, and I would recommend the RAV4. The interior is way better quality. The ford had a lot of rattles, while the Toyota seemed very quiet. Also, toyotas have been known to last near 200,000 miles, while Fords begin to die around 75k-100k. Just my opinion.

Toyota. As a rule they have less problems than Ford. I lived near a dealership that sold Toyota and Dodge and the mechanics told me that if it wasn't for the Dodges they wouldn't have any thing to do. About all they did on the Toyota's was routine service. Transmissions seem to be the weak link in US cars and I have had that problem so I recently bought an 06 Sienna. Good luck.

If you are buying then the Toyota makes for a better buy, but if you are considering a short term lease the Ford Escape would probably give you a better program resulting in lower payments per month.

theyre almost equal, honda engine on the vue, if it was gm, that would be a no brainer.y ou have to admit , rav4 is a lot better looking than the vue. 269 hp on the rav4 v6 while 24X on the vue? my cousin just donated his rav4 with 320k miles. so reliabilty is not an issue with the rav4 like all toyotas.

I was comparing the Toyota Rav 4 and the Honda CRV. I bought the Honda because I heard that the rear tire mounted on the back of the car was a problem if ever someone ran into you or if you backed into something. The back window would break immediately and the hatch door would be unusable.
I am thrilled with the CRV. It hugs the road, gets decent miles per gallon and is very comfortable to ride in and to drive.
I got the higher grade car with the leather interior and it is great!

Ford is mostly foreign import parts...Toyota is the most American made car now. I would buy the Toyota.
