sorry to say but there is nothing that you can do or eat to make your legs longer. You're probably not going to be 4'8 for the rest of your life. If your mom is 5'2"...how tall is your dad? You're only 12yrs old..and still growing. If you smoke..that will stunt your growth. Your period has nothing to do with how tall you'll be. Try to Remember...Good Things Come In Small Packages*
People that are tall want to be small, people that have short hair wish they had long hair...people that are large wish they were petite...You are who you are and be proud of it*~ Best wishes*

well from what i've heard, you pretty much stop growing a year and half after your period... but i'm not sure. girls usually grow to be a little taller than their mothers. i had my period when i was 11... i'm now 15 and i'm 5'3" (i have no chance of getting any taller), my mom is only 5'1". so who knows, it could just be genes. make sure you get all the minerals and vitamins you need (take a supplement/pill) and make sure you get plenty of calcium. girls need a lot of calcium, and iron also. also, exercise a lot. you grow your best when you are healthy. :) there isn't anything wrong with being short you know, guys like short girls ;)

There is nothing you can do to make yourself grow? But you are only 12 you still have a couple of years to go until you quit growing? Plus the only thing you could do is talk to your doc.

I got my period at 11 and I was about your mom's height then, now I'm 19 and 6'0. I don't think you can control it like that, but calcium and such will definatly help your bones at least.
