There are different programs that will help you keep your computer safe, such as one that was already suggested, which was AVG. It's a free antivirus program that you can use to scan your computer for viruses. Here's the link again.

You can find a lot of anti-viruses there (there are free ones) and other softwares like anti-spywares, video converters, firewalls, etc. If your finding an anti-virus, the best would be AVG or Avast.

Go to www.download.com then go to antivirus in your left menu then a list will appear there will be a few scroll boxes select your OS and in license select free when the list is refreshed go to cnet editors pic under the scroll box select the one you prefer. i strongly recommend AVG free edition for this one you can go to this link www.grisoft.com select products and at bottom of the page you will find avg free edition. Also you should download an spyware i recommend spybot S&D or spyware terminator there are both free.

One of the best.....Avg7.5 by Grisoft. It is free for all.
I use it every day to protect my 'puter and its resources.
Also utilize- Windows Defender buy Microsoft. It is free and protects you from spyware and malware.
