may scholars have questioned that. Some have stated that in that time span no matter how short or how long it may have been dinosaurs may have existed then. That is why we find those bones and fosils now.
What are your thoughts on that? I think it is something to think about.

It depends on how fast you read.

I'm getting sleepy. Seriously God created the heaven and earth in six days. But Peter said one day with the Lord is as a thousand years. We could be talking six thousand years from start to finish. I have often wondered this also. It could be possible.

Scientist have found that carbon dating is not accurate after they studied the effects of Mt. St. Helens.

I am assuming you are referring to the Gap theory which tries to accommodate the the evolutionary theory by saying that between those 2 chapters there are millions of unaccounted for years.

Since the theory of evolution has still yet to be proven and dinosaurs are mentioned in the Bible although the word dinosaur is not used simply cuz it was not around yet ,instead you'll find words like leviathan, behemoth, and dragon (Job chapter 41, Psalm 104:25,26 and Isaiah 27:1. This is only a partial listing—just enough to make the point.)

I don't really see why you wouldn't look at chapter one as a chronological account followed by the anthropological account ( or story) in chapter 2. That makes more sense to me than trying to accomodate a THEORY that nobody has proven by over analyzing scripture and pushing it into a mold it doesn't have to fit.

sointanly was. It is called the "first earth age". I know about it.
" I will utter things that have been Hidden / secret since the foundation of the world" This is a biblical reference to what you inquired about. You can look it up. In a strong's concordance look up the word "foundation" used in the quote , it will open new questions / doors. How much do you already know? Yes dinosaurs did exist along with Job and the rest of the earth's populace at that time. Btw. Bible B above is correct it was 6000 yrs . Read 2nd Peter chapter 3 v8 it will explain that.

Yes, I believe in that Gap Theory. I have personally looked at the Hebrew text with a modern common day concordance (Strong's) and I found that Genesis 1:2 can be translated according to that theory. We then go against tradition and say that we cannot by the Bible know that it is only 6000 years old.

Some people say there is a large time span because the earth was supposed to be populated by angels before humans. Does it say that anywhere in there?

The creative days were 6,000 years long and there were only 6 creative days mention in the bible, but the length of time between creative days, is unstated and we are not able at this time to come to an accurate assumption, so we guess as to how many billions of years passed in between creative days.

Dinosaurs came on the 5th day

Common (modern) animals and MAN came on the 6th day.

Dinosaurs were 250 million years ago

Man is 200 THOUSAND years ago

Civilization is 6,000 years ago

When Religious say the World is 6,000 years old, they mean the CIVILIZED WORLD

Not some harsh, animalistic world

Science and Religion agrees on that

CIVILIZED WORLD and MAN is 6,000 years old

No, I believe that the entire creation account was never meant to be taken literally in the first place. It is a description of the emanation of consciousness, the psychological paradox of law creating the inclination to sin, and the principle of redemption exemplified in nature. The very name "Adam" means "human" or "humanity," and is more naturally understood as refering to makind in general, not a specific man.

i believe that there is a gap. God's days are not our days. not that i dont believe God couldnt do it on six days, but just look at the world and its perfection, i doubt it was done in 24hrs. there may have been thousands of different animals in the world but as they continue to become extict, they have been for years..
