find calorie/fitness calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have lean meat (protein) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio exercise 4-6 times a week for 30-50min, light weight training
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, past etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried, oily.
ofcourse you can spoil yourself once in a while with a little treat:)

congratulations on giving birth to a new life. :) Start your workout progressively. There is no such thing as spot reductions. I am sure you have heard of that before, even though alot of info-mercials claimed otherwise. For a start, do 3 to 5 times of cardio for 45 minutes to an hour per week. You can vary the intensity if you are using a cardio machine, try all the various configurations. I would suggest x-aerobics, sprint intervals and speed training. This will bump up your heartrate and burn more calories after the workout. Another important thing is to incorporate weight training into your workout. This is far too wide a topic to answer. You can visit http://www.missionsculpt.com/bffm/ for a complete workout and nutrition solution.

Its hard trying to get back in shape after having a baby. I gained 100 pounds with my 1st pregnancy(i had pregnancy induced hypertention) and lost it all, then after that 70 pounds with my 2nd only because I was lazy and ate what ever i wanted. Now 13 months after my son was born I lost it all. What i did was walk atleast 45 minutes a day(take your little one out for a walk since its nice outside now), eat a lot of grilled chicken breast, cold water fish like salmon, lots of bright colored veggies. You need to burn more calories then you take in, which I admit is hard at 1st but you get used to the lifestyle. You also need to do atleast 20 minutes of strength training 2-3 times a week. Its hard work but you will reap the benefits and feel so much better about yourself. Check out sparkpeople.com it is an AMAZING FREE website and it has meal plans, exercise plans, everything you possibly need to lose weight. That's the website I am on and since joining I have lost about 65 pounds. I hope this helps, if not you can e-mail me and I will let you know more info on how to get healthy and feel good about yourself

Try to workout at least three times a week for at least 30 minutes and don’t overdo it.
To get your body back to its old self you also need to include cardiovascular exercises. Some cardiovascular activities include walking, swimming or aerobics. It is important to get a cardiovascular workout since this will help you burn off the baby fat and lose weight. There are a variety of classes designed for new moms where you can exercise with your baby.

Are you breast feeding? Breast feeding is always a great way for new mothers to shed weight fast... or atleast thats what ive heared and saw from my friends. Also I would suggest doing cardio workouts they are easy to do and you work your whole body.
When doing laundry I know this sounds strange but instead of putting the clothes in a basket to hang or put away later.... take each piece and walk and put them away right then. You wouldnt believe the workout that gives you.

Try walking in the walk with your baby 3 -4 days a week. This gets you both outside. Or check your local YMCA to see if they offer water aerobics or yoga that is geared to new mothers.
Also, check your eating. You're no longer eating for 2, but if you're breast feeding you'll need to make sure that you and your baby are getting enough nutrients.
Good luck.

I got some great advice fomr a nutritional guy who also used to be a personal trainer, he runs his own weight loss site called www.myhealthabc.com. I lost 17 pounds of baby weight and got myself back into good shape, I wish I could say great shape but I would be dreaming--I know my limits. Anyway his advice and the things he recommends are great. He is really nice and not pushy at all. I would definitely look him up, it worked for me and I am sure it can for you. Good luck
