well. hmm.

I'm in a similar situation as you are. as already said, you are obviously smart. But you say that it is stress of failure that has provokesd success, not intelligence.

Look, I am in the same boat as you are, but I copntain my stress by doing random other little things. This site is one of them. I have a couple of things i do to relieve stress from my life. I create languages (don't laugh- its actually good for foreign language and its fun), I write a bit, and I play rugby. Each activity helps control stress and helps me manage my life.

Simply, if you have not already, adopt a sport, or activity. Take your mind off of school- it isn't the only thing. Not that I'm trying to sound like one of those kids who say "screw school, man, and cut class...", but actually take it slower. Get a social life, if you have not already. If you are interested in one specific subject, as opposed to the conformist 'liberal education', pick up a book and read it.

Do something.

You'll do fine, I promise. screwing up your life in college only occurs to you if you don't care at all. Just try hard, but don't kill yourself.

good luck!

I handle stress many ways. I would sometimes keep a journal and write all my stressful events down so I can look at it from another angle instead of them all cluttering in my head. I also talk to people about them, like family members and friends, just basically anyone I trust. Sometimes I play instruments or go on a brisk walk to get rid of stress. There are many different coping techniques. You just have to find the one that works for you. Even doing something relaxing, like watching tv or chatting with a friend, can minimize stress Just any enjoyable activity. I can adapt to change pretty well. I'm pretty versatile.

Talk to your parents first. Tell them exactly what's happening. Then make an appointment with your doctor and see if he or she can arrange for you to see a therapist or, maybe, just write you a prescription for some anti-anxiety meds.
Now, all that said, just take a deep breath and relax for a second. You're not going to screw up your future. Anxiety disorders are easily treatable with therapy and/or medication. And if you have a panic attack before you get to the doctor, try taking several deep breaths and remind yourself that what you're feeling is nothing more than the result of a slight chemical imbalance in your brain. You may not be able to talk yourself completely out of it but it helps a lot to recognize it for what it is, and most of all, that the feeling that you're going to screw it all up is not real.
I've been fighting panic attacks for a long time now. I've even gotten to the point where I can recognize when one is coming on. I promise you there's light at the end of the tunnel--and it's not an oncoming train. With a little help, you'll be fine. And I predict a wonderful future for you.

To be honest i know exactly how you feel if you've already gotten into the school don't worry about the problem finish what you are a part of now take it one step at a time that's the only way to make it in that game. stop pressuring your self you can make it before every situation take a deep breath and make a sound decision and stand firm on it its the only Way to deal with those types of problems. an alternate more psychological game to play is when you start to freak out is to count from 10 to 1 backwards as many times as you have to until you feel better!!! please don't let this hurt you like it can your to smart to let that happen to you!!!!

if you're an A student, you're obviously smart. Screwing up takes a long time to do, like over the course of a semester. If you screw up on like one test, you can still do well on the next one and end up with an A. I got 60% on my stats midterm, and then ended up with an A- mark at the end.

Learn to calm down. See the challenges as fun, and not a torture. Never allow yourself to doubt that you are smart, no matter what your grades are & sometimes even if yr grade goes down, it is not the end of the world.

Enjoy your life, yr school and all that comes your way. Make daily affirmation that you will succeed wtihout stress.

Try meditation to learn to calm down

i've never been this stressed out but i'd just try to calm down and just try to let life take it's toll. if college isn't for you then you'll know. try to do some activities that will take your mind off all these stressfull things. go hang with friends. find something that is your favorite thing to do that's non school related.

I think you should get your thyroid check. I use to have the same problems. Till I found out my thyroid is low and got meds for it.

The panic attacks can be regulated with excercise. If that doesn't work, see a psychiatrist and get treatment.
