It all depends on what you're looking for. It's hard to really get a good set of answers on here, because every member of the military is taught that their's is the best. Do some research, talk to a few recruiters, and make your own decision. All you'll get here are biased answers.

I will say this:
The Air Force will not let you pick your job. They will let you pick a field, but they can put you wherever they want you. So if they put you in a job that has no use outside the military, what good is it after you've retired? At least with the other services you can pick a job that will be useful after you get out, and don't have to trust the luck of the draw.

Right out of basic, you'll feel better about yourself by joining the Marines. But "livin' the dream" in the Corps becomes a nightmare when your body can't keep up with the training and starts breaking down. The Marines have the youngest average age compared to the other services and for the most part, it attracts certain types of personalities that in normal situations would be considered anti-social. Marines know this makes a great Marine on the battlefield but they also know that this same type can become hell for the rest of the civilian population.
You'll be signing up for a minimum of four years, six if in Reserve like I did. I picked a skill (combat engineering) because it was varied. One day you'll be blowing up mines, the next day you'll be constructing medical clinics.
What type of social situation do you want? Do you want to left alone to just do your thing? The best you can do is the Navy or Air Force for that. There is accountability but it's not required that you "hang out" with your Marines. Yes, it's a way of life for Jarheads. You will eat , sleep, and fight together. There is no you anymore, you are part of the Green Machine which has one mission: Fight our country's battles in the air, on land, and sea. Sounds corny huh to break it down "barney style" like that but it's the truth. There's no need making it more complicated than that.

It depends on what you want. The Air Force is the smallest branch and has more money to spend on items to improve quality of life. They typically have nicer bases and things like that. The Army and Navy can guarantee you a job. Marines get the hardest training the crapiest facilities unless they are on a Navy base but they get to be Marines... and once a Marine always a Marine. They have some similar jobs the army has the most jobs though and they offer the most bonus money, it also comes with a pretty much guaranteed tour of duty in Iraq and or Afghanistan.

It depends on what you are looking for. If you are looking for a really hard time, the marines. If you still want a hard time, but not as hard a time, join the army. If you want an easier service and more career opportunities afterward, choose the navy or the air force. If you want to go into computers or aviation, air force. Anything else, i.e. engineer, technician, mechanic, etc., join the navy.

There is no one right answer on this one, it depends on you and what you want to get out of the military. If you are qualified for and looking for technical training, both the Air-force and Navy have excellent programs. If you are looking for a lot of foreign country visits, the Navy hits a lot of ports when they deploy. If you want something specific make sure that the service you talk to can put it in the contract. For instance, if you are looking for Law Enforcement as a Guaranteed Job Specialty, the Air-force can guarantee that job code and the Navy can't. If you are extremely well versed in Physics, Math, Chemistry and think you'd like to operate and maintain a Nuclear Power Plant, then the Navy is the serviced of choice there. If you are looking for the best combat training and survival training then you can look at the Marines or Army special forces or Navy UDT Seals...See what I mean, it depends on what you're looking for. Talk to ALL the services, be specific with them on what you want and see who can most closely match your wants with their service's needs.

I will say the United States Marine Corps, but I am doing a dishonor to the rest because I served in the Marine Corps.
When I did work with the other branches, I notice their lack
of mannerism toward basic essentials. Marines are taught by rules, obedience, and discipline. I am not saying that these other branches don't, what I am saying is the lack of not noticing the outward mannerism to a patriotic spirit foremost to duty to GOD and country. As marines, we excell in providing a service to our nation with faith and honor. We accomplish this by always being faithful to our codes as american fighting men. But I think I've said enough remembering that all other branches are as good as us in different ways.

It depends on what you want to get out of it. I personally would rank it- Marines, Navy, Army, Airforce. Just because the air force is "lazy" and the army is "nasty" and the Marines are pretty hard core. But that is just my opinion and everyone has their own and I really don't know from real experience, just seeing the difference in people I know in each branch.

it totaly depends on what you want to do, if you want to fly get your commission and go into the AF OR NAVY if you want to enlist, i would probably say AF, Navy and marines in that order. The af will be really good if you want to get into technical stuff, and work around air craft. If you love the ocean and would like to travel alot, navy will work for you. The marines is more go in the military to fight. Just remember if you do want to fly,( you have to be an officer). Any branch will give you scholarships once you get out, but how much they give you differs. If you want more info just go onto their websites, www.af.com www.navy.com imnot sure if its marine.com or marinecore.com. But check out those websites. Going into the military is a g big descision, i would definatly say Go with the Air Force or navy, more technical.

The Army has the most to offer a young man or woman, they are the largest of the four branches of service and have more to offer in job training. You can be anything you want to be if you have the ability to learn and the courage to stick with it.
