Average speed in town is very slow about 24 miles an hour most the time your at idle stopped at the traffic lights with the engine running. Before you go running to the dealer try a road trip not a long one just 30 miles or so. Fill up at the gas station on the on ramp till the nozzel clicks off.... no more.... drive 30 miles look for the gas station right off the ramp fill up again just till it clicks off. See if it takes only one or just over one gallon = about the 28 or 29 highway miles a gallon. And the 2.5 altima does not require premium fuel A good name brand 87 octaine will do nicely. Also as the engine loosens up the mile per gallon will get better about 2 mpg.

you are getting so low mileage because you probably drive in low speed limit areas with lots and lots of stop lights
and when you are at a full stop your car actually burns more gas than when it is going and you should also drive with your windows up and not open because they put pressure on the car and causes it to burn more gas..

You should be getting a lot better MPG. Take it back to the dealer.
