My daughter is turning 3 in August...I know it seems a long way away but I want to start thinking of ideas for her birthday. If we do it at the house it will have to be outside and more than likely be pretty hot. The kids that would be invited would range in age from 1.5 to 9 years old (neighborhood kids) and there would probably be around 8 -10 kids (if everyone showed up) plus adults. Bouncys are neat...but I am afraid of the age difference being in a bouncy.

If we did it someplace else...it would probably just be immediate family. I was thinking maybe an amusement park or something like that.

What do you all think??? Any input????

I was a Children's entertainer for many years and there are many fun things to do. If the party is in august and outside do fun things like a relay race, 3 legged race, scavenger hunt, toss the water balloon ( like the egg throw) throw the balloon to your partner and if they catch it take one step back and throw again etc...., bob for worms ( take chocolate pudding, add cookie crumb and fat gummy worms and gummy bugs, end with a water balloon fight. Avoid the pinata in the summer (ants).

Do fun prizes like sun glasses and sippy cups with silly straws, bubbles. Just remember keep the party 3 hours or less to avoid over tired, sugared up, sun burned kids. Above all have fun!!!

I think an arts and crafts party is really cool. All children of all ages can participate. You you do something for the girls like purses, and something for the boys like painting or making animals. You can also do something unisex like making picture frames. Either way it is a good way to keep them busy with out anyone getting hurt.

your daughter is 3. don't stress out about it or overplan. do something simple and enjoyable for all. if you put too much into it, it won't be fun. and i wouldn't advise inviting a lot of kids--i mean, are they really all her friends? i'd invite a couple of your own friends who have kids the same age, and leave it at that, with something fun for the kids, like swimming, since it will be summer.
