Isn't is lucky that Golden Calf pre-dates the Jewish deity?

Can't answer for Muslims as I know nothing of the reasoning there.. For Mormons however.. (I grew up in the faith although I am not a member nor a believer now)
Caffeinated drinks are considered a strong drink and are discouraged in the word of wisdom a portion of the doctrine and covenants... A book of modern day prophecies..
The word of wisdom is a code of does and don't to promote good health...
Not every substance on earth that grows naturally is healthy some is poisonous and harmful.. One wouldn't go walking through a jungle or forest eating anything and everything that grows without being poisoned pretty quickly..
Mormons believe that some plants are made for purposes other than consumption, for instance tobacco when smoked is harmful but when used as a topographical poultice it can leech out infection..
Mormons believe having dominion over doesn't mean ingesting...
Hope that explains it some..

Can't guess why about the Muslims but for Mormons they don't drink anything w/caffeine. Which besides coffee also includes tea and coke. They consider their bodies to be temples having been created by their Heavenly Father. Who says caffeine is bad? Just because the Mormons choose not to drink it doesn't make it bad. It's their religious right.

First of all, Muslims can drink coffee.
Second,
Quote:
"In Genesis God gives man dominion over all the seed bearing plants of the earth. "
How can god say such a thing to people, that's an error.
as we all know from science that there are some seeds and plants that are life threatening, they have poison.
how can god tell you to have poison?

Muslims do drink coffee. I really don't know where you get this idea from.
God doesn't make anything bad. Only human do it. Consider this: An apple a day keeps the doctor away, but an apple thrown at you every day keeps the doctor 1 feet away. So is apple bad? No! We make it bad.

I can't speak for the Muslims....but Mormons prefer to steer clear of it since it contains caffeine, which does affect the body and brain. It can also be quite addictive, and they feel people should keep addictive substances away from their bodies (since bodies are temples.)
Yes....how can people call anything God made bad.....let's see, he supposedly made:
Satan, Arsenic, Radiation, Etc.

Not bad, just not good when not used responsibly.
We are told in our Doctrine & Covenants that hot drinks (coffee and tea) are not good for the body. Why? don't know. God hasn't said.
God made marijuana. Is it good? I can be, IF it is used by those who know what it can and cannot do, and not just picked and smoked by anyone. Tobacco is made by God, but we know it's not good for you, either. It has it's uses, no doubt, but it's not to be smoked.

Muslims drink coffee. Buddhist and Mormons don't. Buddhist don't so that their minds will be clear of the effect of any drug or chemical that might interferre with their attainment of higher consciousness. I don't know about the Mormons.
Ma'a salaam.

I`m a muslim and I drink coffee, infact love it.
There are alot of things God made that have their own function in their habitat, and their own food chains etc but they are not good for humans to consume becos of health reasons ...... coffee is not one of them and muslims can drink it by all means in moderation.
