I am an agnostic and reading Q&A both the religous and the athiests are so convenced they are correct and everyone who is not like them is evil and or dumb for their beliefs. cristians u need to read the bible agin and stop judging , and aithiests u need to understand that its ok have youre beliefs if they work for u but no need to get so nasty over it all it comes off as u are simply terrified that god is real so u attack anything to do with religion. can either of you justify youre actions? I say if jesus makes u feel whole inside more power to you ( but stop knocking on my door for crying out loud, everyone in america knows about jesus its up to them now u just turn people off pestering them,) and aithiests if yr happy why stress over what others do .. live and let live , The world would be a better place if we all just accepted that its ok to beleave in diferent things...

I dont mean to judge myself just curious about the mentality of thoes that believe there way is only way. history is filled with these people, but my personal experience with the baptist church ( raised baptist) got me asking questions!

As a former christian, I would definately say the christians are more judgemental and cruel.
Growing up, I did not know what the word atheist meant, but knew that it was a hated and disgusting thing, this taught to me by adult christians.
At one point in my life, I had found out that one of my instructors was atheist and he explained to me he did not believe in god. I was truly upset and tried to make his life hell while in his company....all of this taught to me from adult christians...
I have obviously learned differently since then, but this is how I grew up, and what was being taught to children.
I don't know about anyone else, but I highly doubt most atheists teach their children to hate christians or anyone else unless they are racist..etc.
Good day to you all.

While Christians can be very cold blooded twords those they see as unbeleivers, I tend to lean twords athiests averaged out as a group being the more hate filled of the 2 nowadays.

Most christians see non-believers as a poor lost soul and an oppritunity to gain personal spiritual riches for themselves in heaven, while an athiest tends to see anyone who doesn't agree with them and thier faith (yes atheisim is a faith) as a primitive caveman who is holding up the development of mankind and should be either sterilized or "re-educated".

I once had a pastor tell me that if satan had his way we would all be holding hands and singing coombya, while we were disussing his approval and even preaching about God's hatred for this and for that, and how christians should also hate diffrent things. So, like with everything there are extremeists on both sides.

Personaly I think hatred of any kind is a form of emotional cancer, for my part.

they have become repetitive. many times neither edge is quite open to problematical their very own ideals, that's gloomy. i'm a Christian yet i've got challenged my ideals harder than all of us has ever challenged me. If i can't comprehend something or there's a conflict in my concept I grow to be obsessed on it until i come across an answer. If it seems i'm incorrect approximately something, I stick to the actuality. The examples you gave are precise on, yet they're purely one edge of the argument. those are atheist stressful circumstances to Christianity and this is real atheists do no longer settle for the solutions, besides the actuality that to be trustworthy a super variety of the Christians answering them don't have an especially deep awareness of Christianity the two, nor do they often have a deep and entirely devoted relationship with God (the minority of Christians quite do). i've got been horribly disappointed in ninety 5% of the Christian solutions in this website. yet, Christians are purely as to blame while they venture atheists. Christians do no longer understand technology and evolution (and this is embarrassing). Atheists recognize greater approximately Christianity than Christians recognize approximately technology. That suggested, there are a number of Christians obtainable who do comprehend technology and have faith in evolution. It does not could desire to conflict with the Bible in any respect, for people who quite learn it.

Seems from your judgment both may be equally judgemental and cruel. So do agnostics come in second?

I do not think as a group you could label either as such. I think individuals have the capability of being judgemental and cruel and that is unfair to place everyone into generic groups.

There are extremists in both groups. I think most of us are more middle-of-the-road, but the radicals enjoy taunting each other, especially on forums like this one. Anonymity gives them license to ridicule, rant, and rave.

Well, I never told anybody that they didn't have morals, are in cahoots with the devil and will burn for all eternity in a lake of fire. Make your own conclusions.

Is this a test? If we join a contest where we judge people...wouldn't that defeat the purpose?
