religious people are generally very very scared and weak....
they have to make up stories to explain things that cannot be explained....if their silly little bible stories are proved to be just that then they freak out.....evolution is a fact, and all religions are simply beliefs.....

I'm a Christian and I believe in micro-evolution. I believe that over time a species can evolve within itself and develop different characteristics. All you have to do is look at horses and dogs to see that this is possible.
What I don't believe in is fairy tales for big people like the theory that inanimate matter just came alive as a result of natural forces and chance. I don't believe that by random chance that a one celled creature was transformed over billions of years into every complex creature that is alive on this planet today.
The law of natural selection works against evolution from one species of animal like a fish to another species of animal because having lungs that "almost work" for a couple of hundred thousand years would make an animal less competative not more competative. The whole theory of macro-evolution is a farce and that's why scientists are now trying to come up with a new theory called sudden origins where they try to claim that due to stress factors a creature could suddenly develop a new limb or organ in one generation. Here's a link where you can check out the latest attempt by scientists to make the theory of macro-evolution feasible http://www.eurekalert.org/pub_releases/2006-01/uop-ppt012506.php
Check out the Evolution Cruncher on a link from the Free Stuff page @ http://web.express56.com/~bromar/ for a lot more reasons why the theory as it now stands is seriously flawed.

Wonderful question! There are entire novels written about this, actually.
I think what you are referring to more specifically, though, is Darwinian evolution. While some biological evolution is indeniable, the information on Darwinian evolution in textbooks is PROVEN to be false by later scientists. The evidence for a divine creator continutes to grow.
For some "evidence" of darwinian evolution, the scientist chose to leave out important facts about the experiment that, if included, would prove it false. Other scientists just do not perform the experiments acurately, so they are invalid. One of the main pieces of "evidence" is Many scientists are actually still misinformed about this issue!
For further reading, try checking out Lee Strobel's The Case for A Creator from your local library. The first section is the exact scientific evidence and explination in an easy to read format for your question. Good luck! :)

Im sorry that youve had this perception.... and it seems alot of other people too (I read a few posts). But I believe fully in evolution because God has a plan for the world. He did not create the world all at once it happend over time aka evolved. Also, I do not actually know of a Christian person in my experience who does not believe in evolution. Perhaps because we are the silent majority. *shrugs* I would also like to say that this includes my Pastor. I hope this helps you better understand my Christian perspective on evolution! ;)

There are two major evidences that I am aware of that bring the theory into doubt::
1. Time: There isn't enough time for the small rodent like mammals left after the last extinguishing event to bring them to the size and variety of the mammals the roamed the earth during the last major ice age.
2. Viruses have been known to man for approximately the last 200 years. During that time there have been billions of generations, yet never has a virus jumped species. Yes the have varied but they remain viruses.. Jim

Samantha is right ... the answer is "duuuh!"
It is reading the Bible like a child ... a literal description of actual events ... even though it was pieced together from fragments of parchment, and scrolls written in languages that had no word for "microorganism" or "DNA". How would it explain 4 billion years of evolution (or 12 billion years since the creation of the universe) to a people who measured DEEP TIME in terms of the number of generations on your father's side? How would it explain that a cup of water contained more living creatures than all the animals they would encounter in their lifetimes? How would it explain that certain "stars" in the sky were actually galaxies of 300 million stars, millions of light years away? How do you explain what a "light year" is to people who had no concept of the speed of light?
So people who want to roll back science to 5th-century B.C. science ... well "duuuh" is a good description.

They have placed more emphasis on their personal interpretation of ancient texts than they have on the real purpose of a religion. Because of this, any perceived flaw in their interpretation would make their entire belief system crumble in their eyes, so they are quire willing to ignore the obvious and be willfully ignorant an tolerant of falsehood to maintain the illusion that their interpretation is perfect.
With some, I think they may see it as a token of faith to express belief in the most outlandish and glaringly untrue things possible.
Notably, the only opposition whatsoever to the theory comes from a purely religious standpoint.

Funny you should ask.
Only days before I turned away from the christian belief, my mother and I were talking about evolution being taught in schools.
I was outraged because I had never realized that learning about evolution in science class was the opposite of what I was learning at church...
I remember the exact feeling and it was betrayal. I felt betrayed for not linking the two in my mind. I was mad, but mainly at myself because if I believed in the evolution, as I always have, I would have saved myself much heartache with church etc.
this was one of the MANY turning points for me, as there were far more of them than this, and I will be ever greatful that I made the only possible conclusion for myself...there is no god.

atheistic sciencists also says Allah doesn't exist.
why? because it contradicts the Genesis account. why can't it work? because it was a simple enough concept to understand, even back then and saying "it was a metaphor" is implausible and calling the Bible false. people in ancient times would have understood God "molded man into His image" or "God took a fish and made him man" quite easily, don't you think? but no. the Bible says God formed man directly from the dust of the earth, the flying birds strait from the air, the fish straight from the water, etc.
and evidence is relative. you'll notice a Christian's evidence is rarely seen as valid, even if there is no scientific evidence to flout it.

Where do you get your information from. The Catholic Church long ago accepted DARWIN in it's original form. That's 1.2 billion Chrisitans. The Jewish thelogians also accepted it, as does many Protestant sects.
It is a small splinter amount to no more than 20% or maybe 250 million that reject it.
HOWEVER what is NOT ACCEPTABLE to ALL CHRISTIANS AND JEWS is SPONTANIOUS LIFE CREATION WITHOUT THE HAND OF GOD BEHIND IT.
That has NOTHING to do with evolution.
Evolution is about how the CREATED LIFE CHANGES NATURALLY

I don't have faith enough to believe that first-something can start without an outside force acting on it. 2 - something simple can become complex; ie. roll a rock down a hill and it becomes a roman statue. Finally, physics teaches that matter is captured energy, but cannot explain how it is held together. These are just a few philosophical problems.
