Ive been taking hair vitamins called Vitatress by Nexxus with biotin pills. I noticed a difference in about 2 weeks. My baby hairs in the front started to grow and my hair seemed healthier and longer after about 6 weeks. Shampoos and conditioners alone cant help your hair grow. You have to nourish your hair from within. Most people dont take in enough vitamins that the hair needs for proper growth. Also make sure you trim your ends or you wont see growth because your hair will just break off.

My doctor has me on a prescription prenatal vitamin (no I am not pregnant) and I use only Fructis or Pantene products on my hair. I also assist my already blonde locks in being lighter by coloring them with L'Oreal. My hair has been growing at the rate of about 6-8 inches per year.
Since hair is keratinized protein, make sure you are getting a balanced diet. Drink two ounces of water for each pound you weigh every day. Check your comb and brush - do you have fallout?? Many prescription meds can cause hair loss - check with your pharmacist to see if any of your meds could be causing this problem.
If all of the above is OK then make an appointment and see your general practioner. Request that labs be done to check for abnormal results. Are you under a HUGE amount of stress, learn how to do bio feedback to lessen the effects.
Do you have your hair trimmed often enough to negate the growth? Keep on asking questions, you will succeed!!

make sure you trim your hair every 6-8 weeks, by trim I mean less Than an eighth of an inch. By dusting the ends you will be less likely to incur breakage which should help in the growth process. some peoples hair never achieves a waist legnth. good luck with your locks!

I have really long hair that has grown like crazy lately. I have found that once I became pregnant and took my prenatal it started to grow and quickly and really healthy as well. Once I had my daughter and stopped taking them, my hair stopped growing, it seemed. I asked my doctor about it and he told me to take a multi-vitamin that had the same sort of stuff in it as a prenatal. I have found that the One A Day Woman's vitamin has really worked when it comes to your hair, your skin and your nails. Everything looks and feels more refreshed and healthy.

A healthy diet actually works wonders and lots of water - I wouldn't take pills as they could be dangerous. Don't wash it every day either. The natural oils in your hair are healthy for your hair . I had the same problem and I tried this- it actually does work! I'm trying to grow my hair to my mid back. Eat lots of protien and get plenty of exercise ! good luck!

I'm not sure about products but I know that getting a trim every month ensures length. When you keep your hair healthy i.e.using minimal heat like drying, curling irons & hot water, keeping a trim monthly & using products that aren't harsh on your hair it allows your hair to grow monthly.

if you dont want to use any of those products, i would just trim it. someone told me to do that and it worked, my hair ended up growing a few more inches at a much faster pace. just make sure you dont cut of too much.
