"God does not create a person with homosexual desires. the bible tells us that a person becomes a homosexual because of sin..and ultimately because of their own choice. a person may be born with a greater susceptibility to homosexuality, just as people are born with a tendency to violence and other sins. that does not excuse the person choosing to sin by giving into their sinful desires. if a person is born with a greater susceptibility to anger/rage, does that make it right for then to give into those desires? of course not. the same is true for homosexuality."

I think it's totall BULL.

Sorry Silver...I think you are just kind of..full of it. No offense.

one of my good best friends was one of the most devout christians I had ever met before he realized he was gay...what kind of sinning could he have been doing to get that whammy then?

you cannot compare a man wanting to be with a man to lying and stealing...it's not the same, how can you even compare them?

It's BULL because you have no choice in being homosexual just like I have no choice in not being one. I'm a girl and I don't like girls that way....but my friend is a guy and likes guy and doesn't like girls. He can't make himself like girls...he TRIED...I can't make myself like girls...I've TRIED...neither of us were successful and had to stick with what we were attracted to. No therapy or medication is going to change that.

Tony, because sadly, a large number of close-minded people think that way and I just don't understand how they can.

Yes it is a total bunch of bull.
The first part is absolutely false, gay people are born gay.

Then flips to a predisposition, and goes on to compare an activity that doesn't hurt others with rage and implication of acting on it. It also assumes you could be inherently rageful. I don't think there is any science to support that.

SCOTT, you can compare acting on rage through violence and hurting others to an activity that is a mutual with no victim? Whats wrong with you??

That does sound plausible with Christian theology, you also have to understand that homosexuality has been around forever and is not some new trend or really even growing in size. Go back to the greeks and the romans, plenty of homosexuality now.

I disagree with the statement on a couple of levels..

1. I don't think a deity made people I think we evolved and are still evolving..

2. I don't think homosexuals become homosexual either they are or they aren't at birth..

I personally don't see a problem with others sexual orientation.. As long as all sex acts are consensual and between adults.. (I.e. I have a problem with rape, child molestation) any sexual acts people want to engage in are their business.. Read up on techniques and precautions before trying more advanced fetishes and such to avoid injury and have fun swing naked from the chandelier, have an orgy, or any other thing you want...

If you miss the target during an Olympic Archery event, does it matter if you shot high, low, left, or right? The nature of sin has nothing to do with its consequences.
And how can you expect to win if you quit halfway through the event?
I find the statement succinct and accurate.

The first reason this is BS is the comparison. Homosexuality hurts NO ONE, never not ever. Anger and rage can.

I'm not even going to touch the rest because I have better things to do with my time than pick apart christian hypocritical theory.

I think it is dead on.

You need to realize the sinfullness of sin. Some say that they were born gay. I say I was born a liar and a thief. We all are born with a sin nature that has tendencies to one thing or another.

response:
My point is that sin is sin is sin. Sin is transgression of God's laws. We all have done it. So it doesn't matter which law we break, they all have the same consequence. We do not go to Hell because we don't believe in Jesus. We go there because we sin. Believing in Jesus will save us as He has satisfied justice.

I agree with you.

It's disturbing that the quoter is comparing anger, rage, and violence with homosexuality.

Of COURSE it's total bull. I always find it SO interesting how those people (who are supposedly straight) "KNOW" that being gay is a "choice." How could you KNOW that unless you're GAY? Those people are idiots. It's that simple.

I think that the statement you quoted is a large amount of a brown, disgusting, semi-solid substance that has been eliminated from the digestive tract of a sexually functional male bovine.

My first impression is the bible is crap, and anything interpreted from the bible is worthless.

My second impression is that whoever spoke that statement is in dire need of a strong kick to the head.
