find calorie/fitness calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have lean meat (protein) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio exercise 4-6 times a week for 30-50min, light weight training
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, past etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried, oily.
ofcourse you can spoil yourself once in a while with a little treat:)

First of all you will need to accept the fact that losing 50 lbs can't happen overnight. It takes effort, dedication, strong will, focus, and time. Pay attention to the types of foods you currently consume on a daily basis and make an effort to carve the bad stuff out (such as simple sugars) and replace it with good stuff (fruits and veggies), etc. You might also want to eat less than you normally do while still incorporating daily nutrients necessary for your body to function.
In addition, you will need to add a weekly cardiovascular fitness program into your schedule and remain dedicated to it (walking, running, swimming, bike riding, etc.)
Good Luck!!

Losing weight is a simple equation: if you burn more calories than you eat, the weight will come off. Start off by estimating how many calories you burn each day using the calorie calculator http://straighthealth.com/pages/tools/caloriecalclb.html This will give you an idea of how many calories to eat. Healthy weight loss is 1-2 pounds per week. To lose 1 pound per week you need to create a calorie deficit (burn more than you eat) of 500 calories per day. To lose 2 pounds a week, you have to double the deficit to 1000 calories per day. You can achieve this by eating less, exercising more or a combination of both.

get outside and run around and play sports. grab carrots instead of cupcakes and try drinking water when your hungry, because usuaally its just thirst. also get a good nights sleep and if your having chips or grapes, put a good porporition size like put it in a bowl and eat slowly not stuff it. dont put the whole bag out becuase you ll tend to overeat. hope that helps =] for more tips or questions IM me at xoPinkAndPreppi2@aim.com. ohh and also don't give up! if your young ask your mom to buy healthy things that you like to eat and if your grown up then just dont buy chips or hohos at all! remember... just because its healthy doesnt mean it tastes bad!
