I just turned 15 and am really stressed about my weight. I am 5"8 and 210lbs. My hips are my "problem area". I usually eat around 1600 calories a day which includes lots of fruits and vegetables. I don't have a problem with candy, chocolate, pop or junk food. I exercise for about 30 minutes a day which includes aprox. 100 crunches and 15 minutes on a thigh stepper. I just started this new "routine" about a week ago. Will I see a differance, if so, how much (estimated)? How can I step it up? Any suggestions? Thanks.

find calorie/fitness calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have lean meat (protein) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio exercise 4-6 times a week for 30-50min, light weight training
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, past etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried, oily.
ofcourse you can spoil yourself once in a while with a little treat:)

Well the first thing I would recommend, if you feel that you can, is to reduce your daily calorie intake to 1200 calories instead of 1600. 1200 seems to be the number that most doctors recommend to those trying to lose weight. Also, you should really try to get at least 30 min. of aerobic exercise alone in a day instead of just 15 min. 30 minutes of consistent aerobic exercise is ideal for heart health, and even a little more is optimal for weight loss. I recommend taking a brisk walk or even dancing around your house (which I am known to do. It's really fun.) with your favorite music blastin'. The music makes the exercise somewhat fun and interesting and also takes your mind off of the clock so you don't sweat it so much. Light weight training might be beneficial to you as well, as muscle helps to burn fat and weights help to build muscle. I would search the internet for exercises for various parts of the body that use light weights. You also wanted a booty exercise, and I have one that I like. It's easy to do and nothing but your own body is required to do it. Get down on all fours, with your knees bent and palms of the hands on the floor beneath your shoulders. Curl one leg inwards towards your stomach and then bring the leg backwards and upwards as high as you can, squeezing the booty in the process and keeping the leg at a 90 degree angle. Do this exercise as many times as you are able with one leg and then switch to the other. Hope I explained that without thoroughly confusing you. Good luck!!

Its not going to happen overnight. But if you continue to work out and eat right, you should loose the weight in time. And if your not sure about what your doing, consulting a nutritionist might help.

Just work out...try dancing. Just put on music & jump. It will work on all those "problem" areas.
