I hear you ... I just asked a question pertaining to this ... I think Christians should display Christ like qualities at ALL times as opposed to some of the stuff I've seen.

You are ahead if you can see that there are millions of hypocrites out there. That at least should alert you to the fact that God's true form of religion is different.
However, a race can look very different from the sidelines or an armchair than from when you yourself actually decide to enter the race. What looked easy before quickly becomes something that you soon realize is actually very difficult and requires much discipline and stamina. The longer you're in training and the harder you work at trying to win the race, the more understanding you become of how difficult the race actually is and you become much less critical and judgmental of others who are also in the race.
So it is with the race towards Heaven and God. The race is so difficult, actually, that Jesus' disciples had asked Him "Who then can be saved?" He answered, "With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible." (Mathew 19:25-26)NIV

first, the term ''religious'' isn't a positive one for a person. it means you are more into the religion, and not really into your belief in God. Now if people are doing good or trying to appear good because of religion, then there must be some hypocricy behind the veil. but if the person is trying to do something what pleases God or the like, it's not being religious and there's no sense of calling it hypocricy. Those people are just soo faithful so in love with God and His words.
btw, not all believers of God are religious. It may be hard to understand for an atheist but hey, you guys are logical and intelligent, so you must understand what i mean.

You are right there are millions of people who are either hypocrites, or , have been deceived by hypocrites. For years I was one of those people, I was actually abused by a priest of the Roman Catholic Church.
How ever, those people MIS REPRESENT the bible message, and would silence any real reading of the Scriptures unless it fit into their narrow thoughts so they can twist scriptures to fit their Sins against God.
Do what I did, I became an AT HOME BAPTIST...
I sat at home and read the Bible. Each time I did I prayed for understanding of this huge book.
I prayed and read for 7 years, and one day a pair of delightful young women came to my door offering Home Bible Studies!
I have no more doubts,no more fears of an uncertain future.
I know what life and death brings, and I have a fine hope for my future.
Let me say, all intelligent humans would want the peace and all educated humans will want the answerer's that I was given after years of skeptical study, I am convinced I have the truth from the BIBLE

Dear One
their will always be hypocrites in the world, and even so that does not take away the fact that God is real, weather you believe in God or not, still doesn't make God any less real. So you can be angry all you want at the hypocrites, but God still loves you very much and wants a relationship with you.

Then maybe your looking for God in the wrong place. God is the author of peace, not confucian. In the christian world there are only two chruch's that are the same everywhere, that both claim to hold the preisthood. Those are the Cathlocs and the Latter-day Saints. Why don't you look in those with real intent of finding him. But check both. And you will find Him.

I agree and unfortunately Im one of them lol I think I have a strong faith in god sometimes but once in a while I have "fear" and it seems to get in the way of the faith thing sometimes fear can override faith dont know why. the thing just seems so much bigger then everything else. I seem to have a guardian angel though so I must be doing ok. I think hes looking out for me. God loves us all and knows we are not perfect. Thats why he is perfect. hope this helps.

Well, I let one mean man drive me away from Jehovah's Witnesses, though a number of others gave me the cold shoulder. I was an agnostic before that, and again afterwards, tho I became a true hypocrite myself when I joined the Church of Christ. (Of course, they say "added to the church"; they don't believe anyone can "join".) But I did that for my wife, as she wanted to join a church to please her mother, who asked her to on her death-bed. And we are still in it, alas. Are we bad people? Well, we are two lying hypocrites. I am not sure why we stuck with it this long after my mother-in-law's passing.

There are hypocrites everywhere, in every group. Religion isn't about basing your life around its other followers. You should ignore the actions of everyone else and find what's right for you. If that's being Atheist/Agnostic, then go for it ... but you'll find hypocrites among them, too.

That is why we are supposed to worship God and follow Jesus because ALL have fallen short and are deserving of the judgment. It is only through following Jesus (believing as well as doing what God wants to the best of our abilities) that we get the get into heaven free card in this rather strange game called life.
