I can never get a straight answer on this. A woman's hair cut isn't inexpensive so do you tip a set amount or a percentage or what?

Im a stylist and if you do the whole cut wash blowdry your looking at a 5-10 dollar tip its a lot of work and time consuming and also use your judgment if you dont pay more than 12 dollars for your service then 5 dollars is a good amount

15-20% of the bill for the service. 15% if you are satisfied, more if you are really happy.

BTW, if another person shampoos your hair - give them $2-3 & then tip the stylist 15% or so.
