I don't believe that Chemistry.com costs anything (at least it is free for me).
As for finding "your man", how picky are you being? Maybe you need to rethink your "must haves". I don't mean settle, just look for different men than you currently pursue.
Your age will not be a big factor, your physical appearance will get you responses but the unemployed part might put some men off.
Are you between jobs or looking for someone to support you? If you happen to be between jobs, make sure you don't put that in your profile. (I know that seems obvious but you went out of your way to include it in your question.)
Hope this helps.

are you looking for a sugar daddy or someone to love that is the question? the word "unemployed" scares people off. If you are on government assistance maybe you should try using the term work at home or homemaker, thats not so scary. It is no longer a man is the breadwinner society. Wake up. It takes both a mans and womans income to pay the bills these days if they are together. good luck.

last I checked it's the women who include employment in their dating catagory so I wonder how seriously your looking. also, there's no set date for meeting the right person if it's meant to happen it will. nothing wrong with taking time off for you now and then. instead of online how about going up to men in person? doesn't have to be a bar, how about bookstores, meuseums, libraries, bike shops? here's an idea: try looking for conventions and conferences and if you can afford it go.

one way you could meet them is the internet..maybe here, on yahoo or a place like friendfinder.com.
it may not always be the safest thing, but it is a good way to start talking to them..and not ALL guys are stalkers. you just have to be careful and not give out TOO much info before you really start to like a guy.
plus, you could send eachother piks of one another so that you know what you guys look like.
good luck :]

any site will well not be vulgar maybe a little risque --- you just need to sort the wheat from the chaff like going out anywhere --- most sites dont ask for money up front -- they allow you to access some of the services and if you want more then you need to pay --- i found my lady on one such site --- best wishes
