Ok - so I took a 22 hour flight and my legs got kinda crampy.. then today I kept feeling that maybe I was short of breath.. then maybe a pain in my neck near the carotid.. then checked web md and completely freaked. Should I get checked out before I fly home, or just admit that I'm a hypochondriac?

You are not being a hypochondriac. Studies have shown that flying for long periods of time can cause severe artery problems in the legs that can affect the heart. I think you should see a medical doctor before you get on another plane.

As a healthcare provider I'd say its possible for you to have a DVT but if it was a PE you would not be wondering. You would be in the ER or dead. Considering the length of the flight it would probably ease your mind to be checked. It's always a good idea to get up and walk around a bit every two to three hours of a flight or long drive.

probably nothing, but economy class syndrome is real (causes DVT and PE).

Pay attention to continued shortness of breath, and to pain when you breathe. Also, if you start to cough up any blood, go get a chest x-ray/CT scan/VQ scan to make sure you're ok...

I'll pray for you.
