I'm watching the history channel Top secret missions of the CIA.

The game plan sounds identical to what we did to SoDamnInsane. We all know Castro got away.

It's the same story!
Americans giving other people weapons to do dirty work only the Cuban situation came out different.

The Cubans Pilots didn't turn on us after they were trained.

It seems America creates it's own situations that back fire.

The Bay of Pigs involved Cuban exiles with CIA training trying to invade their home country. So far doesn't sound anything like Iraq.

When the small force of Cuban exiles were being defeated they called for the promised US Air Force support but the Pres. said "No." Still doesn't sound anything like Iraq.

How can you compare a covert op with an outright invasion to overthrow a dictator? I suggest you do some digging and learn what the Bay of Pigs was really about and JFK's decision making process.

Because politicians should not be allowed to run wars. If we as a country decide to go to war, let the MILITARY run it. War is an ugly thing and the civilian population can't stomach the reality. Once politicians start trying to control it, all is lost. That is why the officers go to college, to learn the art (and yes, it is an art) of war.
