Yes, by "factual" I meant if it was in the bible and not just something I recall from a movie that might have just been an addition by the producer.
I can't remember the movie name. I just remember this Simon guy was huge and wearing an earring.

His name was Simon of Cyrene, and he actually carried it for him, after Jesus fell the 2nd or 3rd time. He was impressed into service by the Romans to do this. Was this factual? At least as factual as anything else in the four gospels.

The man that helped Jesus carry his cross was Simon of Cyrene. And to answer your second question, yes it is factual.

Don't recall the name right off, but there's no way to tell whether it's factual or not. There are no independent reports to go by, and the first recorded account of the Passion did not appear until several decades after the event.

It would help if more Christians were to focus on the teachings of Christ rather than obsessing over irrelevant minutiae.
