Depends on what kind of training you want to teach your pit bull?
* Tug a war(stop playing for a few minutes when your dog gets to close to your fingers!)
* My pit bull loves to play fetch! (Should be house trained and never let him loose in public areas)
*Hide and Seek( Dexter my pit bull loves to play that game. You simply hide a treat in one hand, close both of your fist, and let him sniff it out! When he paws at it or sits right by it, any sign of choice, you open your hand and give it to him)
*Jogging, your pup/dog needs to burn off that energy and start gaining that muscle. (only for dogs 1 year or older)
* Take him to a nice watered area he/she might love to swim(supervision is very important; why do they call them pit bulls? They are bred to fight in pits in the past and they're considered bullies for doing so.Thats how they got their names. Harsh but true.)
Think of something you and your dog might enjoy.

The best training is obedience training, the basics.

Look for a good dog training school (not just one instructor), that use positive reinforcement.

Games will eventuate from there. Often the dog will show you what games he likes.

With a Pitty I would avoid tug of war games. Even if you WIN every time, you should not do anything that even remotely gives him the idea that he can even try to challenge you.

That depends on what kind of training.
aRe you talking:
house training,
Obedience training,
doing tricks,
being a good house dog when visitors around I'ts way to much to go into unless you give a better idea of what you need.
I would say the best reward I've ever found is a good dog and a pat to a hug depending on how hyper you dog is.
I wish you luck and if you can tell more I will try to help.

Well, as a Pit owner, I sure hope you're not looking for training games that will lead to dog fighting. I'm hoping you are talking of just how to train a pit. Pits are very very intelligent and are eager to please. I would not suggest playing tug of war with your pit as it can make them territorial over items and it can bring out aggression. Pits love to play ball...get a canister of tennis balls and you're good to go for hours of tossing. Just praise your pit often when doing good. Always show that your in command...never hit, kick or beat your pit. You will bring out an agression you don't want! Pits need exercise. You can walk your pit, run with your pit...just do what you would do with any other dog....start out with the sitting, staying and then move up to something else...you should only train for short periods of time. Good luck and remember, just as any dog, treat your pit with respect and honor and it'll be the most loyal companion you can ever have!

What do you want to train your dog to do? Pitbulls are like other dogs. If you want a dog with a gentler mouth do not rough play with the dog using your hands. Never hit your dog!

Tug of war!!! Seriously its an interactive game for you and the dog! Petsmart can give you lots of help. Pits are one of the smartest breeds around. I own 3. All of them are service dogs and help mitigate emotional disorders. all 3 have been trained through them!!!

I don't know what kind of training games are specific to pit bulls, but any good dog obedience training will be of benefit to your dog.

You have show them who is the boss. Don't be nice or they will become spoiled and take advantage of you. Do not and i repeat do not train it to fight or it will die fighting a dog to strong.
