Science is now able to keep me alive so I can suffer pain and the hopelessness of dying an additional 20 years!

"Religion" doesn't do a thing for me, but a personal saving relationship with Jesus Christ guarantees me an eternal reward that far outweighs the temporal benefits that science bestows upon us to make our lives a little more bearable in this fallen world.

"And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, "Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man. He will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them as their God. He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning nor crying nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away." And he who was seated on the throne said, "Behold, I am making all things new." Also he said, "Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true."

And he said to me, "It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. To the thirsty I will give from the spring of the water of life without payment. The one who conquers will have this heritage, and I will be his God and he will be my son.

But as for the cowardly, the faithless, the detestable, as for murderers, the sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars, their portion will be in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur, which is the second death." Revelation 21:3-8

Besides which, the cantaloupe would never make it to the grocery store if God had not given us the tree to grow it on, the light and water and soil to cause it to bear fruit, and the mercy to allow us to partake of all his good gifts even though most of us are in rebellion against our gracious creator.

Luke 6:35 But love your enemies, and do good, and lend, expecting nothing in return, and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High, for he is kind to the ungrateful and the evil.

I do not understand. Science doesn't cool homes, air conditioning does. Meds have been implicated in the Columbine AND the VA Tech shootings. Farmers grow cantalopes from seeds, not science. And a machine vacuums carpeting, using principles that have always existed in the universe. What has science or religion got to do with any of these things?

They are both solutions to different things. Science helps our bodily needs, which are essential. The Christian religeon provides for us for eternity.

For me, Science stems from religeon. Christ is an orderly God, therefore we can better our situation on earth by learning more about this odwerly creation God has made. (If it wernt orderly, the stuff wouldnt make sense, and than there would be no point because nothing would be consistent)
For peopel to say The Christian religeon would have us back away from science, You have only to look at who and what brought us out of the middle ages!

wrong...because neither science nor religion can really explain how the universe was created. it is the one question that may never be answered. i like science and i like many of the benefits that science has produced, but there are somethings that should not have been invented or discovered. Einstein may have been a genus.... but he was one of the scientist dabbled in the laws of nuclear physics which brought us nuclear weapons....welcome to the modern world.

Science is facts, not truth. facts are just facts. They have nothing to do with sprituality. Though neither does religion. So why try to put the world in an either or situation.

theres a difference between operational science and origins science
origins science is the only thing that "conflicts" with religion. delivering a cantaloupe to your grocery bag doesnt contradict religion
how could you call science the only truth? great scientific claims are changing every decade!

if you can live without science, give your everything to charity, since science contributed to most of the stuff we have... erm... all of the stuff we have.

one very basic example is agriculture...

how about the grocery store? i myself cant live without the grocery story... much less without money to buy things

if meds dont heal people, why take them?
