There is no other option except to see a vet tomorrow. No one here can tell what it is. Only your vet.

I'll be praying it's nothing, but you have to make sure.

Has something bit your dog??? Did a bee sting him?? If so the stinger may still be in his head. That is why it could be so sore??

Until tomorrow see if your dog will let you put a small ice pack on the area!! Take a small plastic bag and put some ice cubes in it. Then place a wet wash cloth around the ice pack and put it on your dog's head.
If there is any swelling this will help and the pain as well.

I would take the dog to the Vet as soon as you can.
If this has just happened then I would think it is a bite??

My 12 week old Lab puppy a few weeks ago had a lump on one of her legs. I couldn't begin to think what it could be?? I took my puppy to the Vet and he said it might be a bite and sure enough in a few days it went away. The bugs are really bad this year. Ticks are really bad too!!
Good Luck

I would suggest you take your little Cairn to the vet. it could be something very simpe to God forbid a malignat tumor.
it Could be something like an absess that may just need to be lanced.
Try not to touch it not knowing what it might be could be a problem.
I wish I could be of more help but not seing teh little baby i can't say anything more than don't take chances get him/her to the vet, preferably tomorrow, I don't think it's neccessary to rush tonight and pay emergency bills.
Good Luck

Oh please. Take it to a vet. You know that. And if you don't, then you have no business having a dog.

It is your dog's RIGHT by law to receive proper medical attention. Why are you wasting time on the computer asking unqualified people questions when they have not even seen your dog, let alone examined him?

Get off your butt and go do the responsible and right thing.

Don't panic just yet!

The lump can be harmless. There are lots of different kinds of lumps.

It will need to be seen by a vet!

The vet can remove it and examine it under the microscope and do lab tests, which will show exactly what kind of lump it was.

The only help I can provide is to tell you that this is a problem that you have to see the vet about.. It could be anything from a bug bite, to a tumor, to a lump from walking into something to gum stuck in her hair... I have no clue and even if I saw it, unless it was gum in her hair, I wouldn't be able to help you at all...
