"Watershed" by the Indigo Girls (especially the chorus):

up on the watershed
standing at the fork in the road
you can stand there and agonize
till your agony's your heaviest load
you'll never fly as the crow flies
get used to a country mile
when you're learning to face
the path at your pace
every choice is worth your while

I heard "Last Call" by Dave van Ronk at an important time in my life ... it helped me see things more clearly.

Not sure about inspire, but the Joe Jackson version of "Jumpin' Jive" at full volume never fails to cheer me up!

Since someone already took "Let it Be", I could list several, "Only Fools Rush In" by Elvis, "Unchained Melody" by the Righteous Brothers, "Bridge Over Troubled Waters" by Simon and Garfunkle, "We Shall Overcome" written in 1903 by Rev. Charles Tendley. I have sung this song many times within diversified groups. It is inspiring, an anthem that says things can change and that we can overcome, someday. Also, I love "It is Well With My Soul", which was written by Horatio G. Spafford in 1873. He was inspired by the Chicago fire of 1871 that wiped him out financially. He was a very wealthy businessman. Later that year, his 4 daughters were killed when a passenger ship that they were on crashed head-on with another. It speaks to eternal hope--no matter what the pain, we must endure. When I hear it, it quickens me, makes me think of Spafford and his losses, and how my life's problems are so insignificant to his or anyone else's in the world. All these songs speak to us of love, hope, and of overcoming great odds.

Cotton fields - by Beech Boys

Déjà vu - by Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young

Simple man - by Graham Nash

Those songs (and many other albums) became good companions in the age of my youth 'cause I had still near me my first fiancé, a girl from Long Island - NY. They are still now in my heart, even if in the mean time i've add some rap and hip hop song. But those ones, they are the Ones and I'll never forget them.

Inspired eh?

"Practice What I Preach" by Hank Williams Jr.

It's on his Album "Born to Boogie. Original Classic Hits, Volume 15"

Here's the lyrics:

People, I think its time we stop this runin' around.
This world is going to fast and we'd like to slow it down.
Don't let 'em talk you into doin' what you don't want to.
Just learn to say no and learn how to refuse.

[chorus]
'Cause you don't own nobody nothing except God above.
Go out and go after the things in life you love.
Don't try to force it, if it ain't going smooth.
The one person you should never try to fool is you.
You can make it to the top but only you'll know when to reach. And I am not just talking, I practice what I preach.

Maybe you don't do all the things you're supposed to.
Your boss gives you a job you hate but you smile, that's the rule.
You see yourself playing the game and its rubbin' you wrong. Ah, you don't know how much more you'll take,
How long can it go on?

[repeat chorus]

No, I am not just talking, cause I practice what I preach.

The song "Greatest love of all" i was inspired of this song., if you have heard this you really appreciate if what is all about. When i heard it, one word keeps on my mind and it is all about "Love".. love is broad but this what really important. Imagine if all people do care for others, on the environment and that was part of love.. we care because we love others, environment. If we have this one, we live happily because will have then a nice and safe environment, there would be a unity. No poverty, no global warming..

But sad to say only few people have the real meaning of "Love"...
how about you? do you have love....? Simple question but hard to understand why it should be...to have love...

Calm and think for a while... what you should do..... will you go for love or what...?

"Rewrite" by Asian Kung-Fu Generation... As for why, well, I think if could I understand the lyrics they'd be rather profound.

That or Que Sirrah Sirrah, by Pink Martini, which makes it easier to get through things and mirrors my personal sentiments...

Or maybe even the version of "Down with the sickness" by Richard Cheese and Lounge Against the Machine... Because that is an INCREDIBLY awesome song.

Recently I have been searching the Christian music scene and I recently heard a song by Jeremy Camp called "Give Me Jesus". It is a great song. To a brainwashed Christian like me, this song motivates me. It pretty much states that the world, life and death itself means nothing apart from Jesus Christ. It's also a cool sounding song also.
