How would you say "sugarcoat" in spanish? For example, if i wanted to say that the movie doesn't try to sugarcoat anything and it is very realistic...how would I express this in spanish?

In that case, it would be: endulzar

La película no trata de endulzar las cosas, es muy realista.

Edit

There is an expression in Spanish

"endulzar la píldora" = to sugarcoat the pill (medicine)

meaning to try to make things look/sound better.

I agree with the wise man. I speak Spanish too but in a room full of people, I look like the last one that would know Spanish. Maybe its the unknown that makes it so attractive. Like if u met a hot Italian guy but didn't know any Italian like me u would be fascinated by listening to him sometimes mainly because u have no idea what he's saying. A veces te interesa porque no es normal pero a veces la ignoras porque no entiendes. Es diferente para cada persona. Pero I do agree with u. Si no entiendes algo que alguien dijo te interesa más because ur wondering what did that person say.

There are some idiomatic expressions you can use:
no se anda con rodeos (doesn't beat around the bush)
va directo al grano (gets to the point)

i would say " esa pelicula es duro y directo" which means the movie is straightforward. or you could say "esa pelicula no tiene pelos en la lengua". which is the same.
