No. It would be like lets say, an inoculation against HIV is discovered. Is there going to be anyone who will be saying
that the breakthrough is God's way of telling us to bugger each other?

No...you don't have to be an adulturer to get an STD, although in my opinion it would be good if any one who cheats on their significant other got an STD, not only for punishment, but that way they also couldn't hide the fact that they are cheating. Some STD's though are even passed on through birth, so you can't say that the children should be punished for something they had nothing to do with. I've heard a lot of people say this (and other things similar like AIDS is punishment for being homosexual), but it's not true...many people get AIDS and STD's from an infected partner that didn't know that they had it to begin with and some things that don't have cures, like herpes for example, so you're stuck with them forever once you get it, no matter if you are faithful or not...

It's not a matter of punishment, I wish folks would get that in their head .. it's the wages, you earn it.

It's like the person who climbs to the top of a tall tree during a tornado and jumps in when the thing gets close. If they live, they wonder if the broken bones and lacerations are God's punishment.

Hardly. STD's are transmitted through many non-adulterous relationships.

Certainly it's a temporal punishment for their behavior, but God's punishment will be eternity in Hell for the unrepentant.

God does not punish us in that way. Why should He we do a very good job of doing it to our selves.

The Bible says that anger is contagious. (Proverbs 22:24, 25 Do not make friends with the hot-tempered, do not associate with those who are easily angered, or you may learn their ways and get yourself ensnared.)

James 1:14 says that epithumia (turning about periods of rage and passion that are maddening like wine) draws you out. This means that you are avoiding prophecy, which is "carried out."

Exodus 23:25
Worship the LORD your God, and his blessing will be on your food and water. I will take away sickness from among you.
