Don't give me any backtalk. I'm twelve, but I want to lose weight. I don't care if I'm "too young". Besides, I don't want to buy a South Beach diet book. I just want to know what healthy foods I should eat. Thanks in advance. Smart answers and greatly appreciated.

No diet in the world will work. You must change your lifestyle. It is that simple. I went from 256 to 150 by this method. If it doesn't fly or swim or grow don't eat it. That is turkey, chicken, fish and veggies. Lots of veggies and fruits. Use no fat. Instead use spray brown meats on both sides and add one cup of water and a lid and steam till done. whaalaa It only took me 9 months to lose the weight and I am keeping it off for over 2 years now.

find calorie/fitness calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have lean meat (protein) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio exercise 4-6 times a week for 30-50min, light weight training
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, past etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried, oily.
ofcourse you can spoil yourself once in a while with a little treat:)

You shouldn't go on a "diet" but change your eating style and excercise habbits. You should only eat meals, no snack foods or if you're really hungry then just fruits and vegies. Then make yourself an excersice plan. I go jogging every other day and do 100 crunches and 10 pushups in the in between days.

You are never too young for a healthy diet, it should be a lifetime habit! Limit sugar, and refined wheat products like white bread and crackers. Eat as many colors of fruits and vegetables as you can, and have plenty of whole grains and low-fat dairy such as skim milk, yogurt, and reduced fat cheese. Get your protein from lean chicken, beef and pork, in moderate portions and if you like fish, eat plenty of that ( but not fried!!) If you get in the habit of eating in this healthy manner as you continue through your teen years, you will naturally find a healthy weight.

Losing weight is a simple equation: if you burn more calories than you eat, the weight will come off. Start off by estimating how many calories you burn each day using the calorie calculator http://straighthealth.com/pages/tools/caloriecalclb.html This will give you an idea of how many calories to eat. Healthy weight loss is 1-2 pounds per week. To lose 1 pound per week you need to create a calorie deficit (burn more than you eat) of 500 calories per day. To lose 2 pounds a week, you have to double the deficit to 1000 calories per day. You can achieve this by eating less, exercising more or a combination of both.

- Limit your intake of carbohydrates (meaning never go to a fast food restaurant again, eliminate chips sweets as well).
- Eat 5-6 times a day - healthy meals - lots of fruits, vegetables, and protein.
- Drink lots of Water
- Have your last meal at 7pm and don't eat anymore on that day.
- Exercise
- Don't cheat

if you talk to any expert, they will tell you this: calories in, calories out.

every diet you here about is, ultimately, a fad. the key to losing weight is simply burning more calories than you consume. that simple.

so, all you have to do is start keeping track of what all you're eating, and make sure to exercise enough to burn at least that much.

Basically protein the size of your palm, and cut down on the rest, speed up the excersize--nothingother than 2cups milk and all water rest of the time. You'll lose.
