well according to some medieval biblical scholars that is exactly what it dose mean.

The copper kingdom was that of the Greeks

and the Iron kingdom was that of the Romans.


but considering the fact that many view that parts of Daniel were written during the Macabeen period this is not surprising.

even so it is erey in how close it is. line 41 that describes a divided kingdom seems to sound exactly like the Byzantine and western roman empires.
