depends on how busy the office is.. the there are a few steps to braces such as
consultation: the discussion of the proposed treatment
records: the preparing phase. xrays, impressions
seperators (if needed): the placing of small bands in between your teeth at least one week prior to placement of braces.
placement of braces: one week after seperators the braces go on.
its possible if your office has the time.. pick an office thats accessible to you.. you'll be going at least every 4-6wks for adjustments.

Unless your dentist is also an Orthodontist he/she will not be able to put braces on your teeth. An Orthodontist is the specialist that puts braces on your teeth.
The Orthodontist will examine your teeth, take x-rays, and determine whether you are a good "candidate" for braces. (Whether your teeth are in good condition or whether dental work is needed may be a factor.)
If you are a good candidate, and you decide you can or your insurance will cover the cost and the Orthodontist has allotted the time to put them in the same day the process can be done in the same day (in less than two hours to be frank). The Orthodontist will also tell you how long he/she thinks you have to have the braces.
It's not a lengthy process to have braces put on your teeth. It's a matter of having the appointment and the ability to pay. You have to go every month to have the braces maintained until you have them removed (when your teeth are straight and spaces are closed).

no. a dentist will not give you braces because you WANT them. only if the dentist finds it nessisary to put them on yes. usually it take about 2-3 weeks for the whole process to be dome

Depends on the dentist and his schedule, but I would say yes. They will first have to mold your teeth. After they make the mold they will have to put the braces on pretty quickly after that or else your teeth could shift more causing the first mold to be inaccurate.

probably not. they would have to prep you to even GET braces. i started going to the orthodontist when i was 9 and didnt get braces until i was 12. during those 3 years i had to have an expander, retainer, spacers, and extractions.
anyways, i doubt it. but good luck anyways!
