Here's the funny thing about the law. I talked to a postal worker there, and he told me they can't legally open packages and letters sent to soldiers in Iraq. You could have a label on the box that says, Contents: Booze, Porn, Unborn Fetuses, and they can't touch it. But, lets say you get the package and say, gee I like booze and fetuses, but I have to send that porn back, so you box it up to ship home. At the post office, they open the box and check the contents before they let you seal it back and send it off, so the soldier sending it home could get in trouble, but he wouldn't get in trouble recieving it.

(1) Anything sold by the PX/BX does not count as pornography for the purposes of UCMJ. This includes Maxim and Playboy.
(2) Neither of those magazines are considered contraband in the United States (you're not sending it to Iran or Saudi to one of their local nationals) so you're fine.
(3) There are stacks and stacks of both over there in the sandbox. Adding a few more wouldn't hurt. It would liven up a few walls. As long as EO is respected, of course.
EDIT: By the way, tampering with a servicemember's mail unless it is in the line of duty (i.e. it is packed with explosives or contraband) is a FEDERAL OFFENSE.
