Follow no religion. Don't be a sheep. Use your own mind. The basic idea of religion is to explain anything that we don't understand. Religion is also used to control the common folk, like you and me. Don't allow it to do so.

I'm afraid you've made a bit of a mistake if you expect a general consensus on which religion we think you should follow! Many people here are going to tell you to follow their own religion/philosophy.
What do you think of this possibility?
Yes, I am Catholic, but despite having chosen this one religion, I promote something greater than that. It is the concept that all beliefs/religions contain their truths (even atheism) and respect God's love -- just from a different angle!
This concept supports the existence of all the world's religions, like Buddhism, Christianity, Hinduism, Islam, and even animism (what the Native Americans believed). It's as if the Holy Trinity is understood by each religion in a different way:
The "Religions of the Books" (Islam has the Quran and Christianity has the Bible) understand God most clearly through the concept of a prophet here on earth (God the Son -- Mohammed/Jesus).
The "Religions of Silence" (the basis of Buddhism is the power of silent meditation) seem to be in touch with God the Father through their souls.
And the "Religions of the Spirit" (Hinduism/animism believe that nature consists of multiple spirits) best accept the presence of God the Holy Spirit.
Please email me if you'd like to discuss this in greater depth! =)
But above all, pick the religion (or even lack thereof) that makes you most at peace with yourself, and most happy. That is the goal of any religion.

The basic idea of religion is different from religion to religion.
As to what religion you should follow, no one can tell you that.
You should do some research on the basic tenets of many different religions to see which one really speaks to you the most.
Good luck.

Well, if you don't know by now, take the logical route - atheism.
A side benefit - Squat to "follow!"
But in case that's not for you, for real info on many religions... http://www.religioustolerance.org/index.htm#new
