If your smart in Math, answer this for me.?
Ok.....finals are next week and I'm passing everything with flying colors EXCEPT Math...and i have a 67.7 which is a D,. In order to pass the class you have to have a 64% or better, yea its close. Keep in mind the final is 20% of your grade. What is the LOWEST grade I can get on the final and still pass the class........Thanks

Try it this way.

There will be 5 total parts in the final average. One of those parts is the final exam since it counts for 1 part out of 5 (20%). So the other 4 parts are made from your existing average (since it is the other 80%). If you add all of those parts up and divide them by the number of parts (=5) then you must get at least a 64 for the answer.

So ((67.7 x 4)+M)/5 = 64 where M is the minimum you must hit on the final.

That means that when you multiply and divide you get 270.8 + M = 320. Subtracting the 270.8 from both sides gets the grade of 49.2 as the worst you can get on the math final and still pass.

That makes gut sense since you have a running score that is almost 15 points above what you are needing (67.7-64 x 4 tests) so your final can be about that much below your existing average.

I think I just answered this on another thread.... haha...

You'd have to get a 49.2 on your final! See the other thread for the equation! Good luck!
