I already have a place of residency in Hoboken. I sent resumes to a few schools but received no feedback. What am I doing wrong? What school districts, public or private, are known for academic excellence? I am also interested in a publishing career. I have finished my first novel and would love a "foot-in-the-door" way to meet publishers. Any advice?

It'll be easier to get a job in teaching. Do that and work on getting your novel published later. There's a lot of competition with that. Last time I checked, there were just over 5,000,000,000 people trying to get their novels published.

Just want to give you a heads up that there are many talents like you have the same thought, you gotta to be the best and different from them.

My suggestions are you should categorize your novel and seek for a suitable publishing company, not every company will publish novel.

Also, what do you mean publisher career? You want to be a writer or editor? Pick the best and develop, don't do both.

You can look a Charter Schools that are looking for teachers. My daughter goes to one and I believe that it was the best decision. I use to work for Dept of Education for special ed and its kind of hard If you want to work where your skill are need and will be appreciate then look at NYC.GOV for charter school and private schools, or the New York Times
