ive asked this question before and no one ever answers it. from what ive learned about christianity it has to be one of these two things.

God can see into the future since he is allpowerful. He knows even before a person is born if they are going to hell. I know about free will. If there is free will then god isnt allpowerful because he cant see into the future and see what is going to happen to us.

im taking it if anyone says god gave us free will then he is not all powerful becasue he doesnt know what decision people are going to make

im not atheist and im not denying this is the way it happened. God could be cruel like that and knowingly send people to hell

People make the choice to reject Christ and die in their sins. Therefore people make the choice to go to hell.

2 Peter 3:9, "The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance."

Both.

God can do anything. No limits. (Just think, he created the universe, just by saying "BE", and there it was).

God can send people to hell, but only those who were really wicked during their lives, and who CHOSE to be that way.
But God knows what is really in our hearts, and judges us by our intentions and not just by our actions. And God LOVES to forgive. He can forgive almost anything. We just need to ask.

We have the free will to chose what we do - believe in God or not, do good or bad, whatever. God tells us what is best for us, and then lets us choose. There are things which test our faith, bad things happen, these things tempt us to do wrong, even when we know what´s actually right. So, basically, we have to do our best to "pass the test". Life is just a test, it is over within the blink of an eye. What matters more is what comes afterwards.

But - about "Fate": Certain things in our lives are already determined - certain milestones (where we live, if/who we marry, if we´ll have kids, when we´ll die, etc.). But between these points, we have a lot of free space. We can choose to make the best of things, or to do negative things.
The interesting thing is that, even if we are on a negative path, we can change that by praying for guidance. So although certain things will still happen, we will deal with them properly and hopefully make it to heaven instead of hell.
That is why it is said, "Prayer changes destiny". It can change the outcome ( heaven or hell).

Well, I ended up giving you the Islamic explanation of this, not the Christian one (because it didn´t make sense to me either, and I ended up converting). Hope you don´t mind :-)

Take care, I wish you peace! :-)

God does know what decisions you'll make. God created time, and so He isn't limited by it. This means He can move forward in time and see what we will do without ever taking part in the decision-making process itself. Thus, we have free will, but God knows what we'll do before we do it. Just bc God foreknows something doesn't mean He forecauses it.

Why did God create ppl who He knows will go to hell? I don't know exactly. However, I trust God to do what is best for everyone. If someone uses their free will to reject Him, then that's on them.

My dad mentioned a quote about this not being the best possible world, but the best possible world in which free will is present.

It is said in the Bible that mankind was the only thing God created and gave free will to. God does not want to force anyone to come to him, or believe in him. He could make everyone if he wanted to. The Bible does say that every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that he is King of King and Lord of Lord. This will be done by everyone, weather they choose to or not. This will be done at Judgement. God knows the past, present, and future of all. Yes, and knows the decisions of all mankind. But like I said will not force anyone to believe, this being their own free will. But will make sure that every ear will hear the Word of God, and its up to them what they do with it. At the point of hearing the Word of God they have two choices, to believe and turn to God, or to not believe and turn away from God. The result for a non believer is Hell. The result for us believers is the promise of everylasting life in Heaven. Hope this helps answer you question.

God's all knowing it does not interfere with your free choice...this is not complicated...If I catch a replay of the game I may well know what the final score is but I can't change it no matter how many times I watch it...God can change the outcome but does not he allows for your free will. This does not prevent you form changing and accepting the atonement no man is created for damnation and we all can choose. The fact that God is all knowing has no effect on your ability to choose the truth or accept a lie. Hell itself is the grave and all men do die. I believe you are referring to the lake of fire which hell is eventually thrown into.

So you're complaining because He gives you a chance? That figures. First, the atheists complain because they don't think they should be sentenced to a hell they say they don't believe in, then they think its unfair that they have should suffer the consequences of their own choice, even though they know the consequences, then to top it off, here you are complaining that He's giving you a chance. Talk about whiners!

The thing is, He knows the outcome, you don't yet. You think you do, but if you're still alive, you can't really be sure, can you?

This is mindless. God created hell for Satan and the fallen angels. Humans crashed that party on their own, so don't blame God if people go to hell on their own. God doesn't demand we serve him. God made it clear he loves them that loves him. God made a way for people to come to him, to be safe. But understand this not all people are his. If people want to miss hell and death they must be born again no exceptions Acts 2:38. You are also in error because God does know all things, because God can still use for his propose those who hate him and think hell would a better place than Heaven. In his plan nothing is wasted including the hell bound. God uses those that hate him to fulfill his own will not theirs.

God proved that he is not all powerful when he asked Adam where he was in Genesis 7.

add> My bad, it was Genesis 3. You'd think an Atheist would know his bible better:

Genesis 3:9 But the LORD God called to the man, "Where are you?"

In the Garden of Eden God had the first voting booth, and we voted him OUT.
He doesnt send us to hell, we send OURSELVES by CHOICE. He knows our sinful nature, and puts in our way numerous 'hints' to get our attention, among them getting hit by a bus or hit by lightning, along with more numerous things on a daily basis, to get us to see the error of our ways, but went choose to IGNORE him and continue in IGNORANCE. He sent Christ to be an ATONEMENT for our evil ways, and we disgrace Jesus and mock him for suffering one of the mot painful deaths imaginable, by not repenting for our wrong doing and turning to God. We DESERVE the flames of hell if we dont change our sick, evil ways.
Stop blaming God for your own sins.

GOD HONORS OUR CHOICE
ISAIAH 53:6
"WE ALL HAVE WANDERED AWAY LIKE SHEEP; EACH OF US HAS GONE HIS OWN WAY."
"HOW CAN A LOVING GOD SEND PEOPLE TO HELL?" THATS A COMMONLY ASKED QUESTION. THE QUESTIONS ITSELF REVEALS A COUPLE OF MISCONCEPTIONS.
FIRST, GOD DOES NOT SEND PEOPLE TO HELL. HE SIMPLY HONORS THEIR CHOICE. HELL IS THE ULTIMATE EXPRESSION OF GOD'S HIGH REGARD FOR THE DIGNITY OF MAN. HE HAS NEVER FORCED US TO CHOOSE HIM, EVEN WHEN THAT MEANS WE WOULD CHOOSE HELL....
NO GOD DOES NOT "SEND" PEOPLE TO HELL, NOR DOES HE SEND people TO HELL. THAT IS THE SECOND MISCONCEPTION.
THE WORD PEOPLE IS NEUTRAL, IMPLYING INNOCENCE. NOWHERE DOES THE SCRIPTURE TEACH THAT INNOCENT PEOPLE ARE CONDEMNED. PEOPLE DO NOT GO TO HELL, SINNERS DO. THE REBELLIOUS DO, THE SELF-CENTERED DO. "SO HOW COULD A LOVING GOD SEND PEOPLE TO HELL?" HE DOESNT, HE SIMPLY HONORS THE CHOICE OF SINNERS.
