Yes, the kitty probably is old, and maybe even sick. When I rescued a kitty who had been abandoned by his previous family, he had lost a huge amount of weight- and fur- to just plain starvation. But he recovered when he started getting regular food and attention again.

If you can, you may want to take your stray in to the vet to find out what's going on with her.

Good luck!

I thought my cat had mange, and i took him to the vet. It turned out that he had an allergic reaction to fleas, and once the fleas were treated it went away and his fur grew back. Now i just have to remember to put advantage on him ontime, and it never happens anymore. Ask a vet maybe.

Could be ringworm or flea dermatitis. Only a check up at the vets office will tell for sure.

Sounds like mange to me as well. Only a vet can tell you what it is with blood tests or skin tests. No pictures I can't tell. If it is the pet food I see your very kind hearted but please sue them for that cause kind hearted people didn't sign up for that. good luck Moe

I thought my cat had mange, but looked out the window one day to see birds attacking her and pulling hunks of hair from her.
