how do you know when you are using your diaphragm while singing?

if your shoulders are going up and down.. i hope you know thats not your diaphragm..
if your belly is going in and out, you're using your diaphragm

**BTW:: esp. for girls, don't be afraid of making your belly as big as it can go.. it gives you a helluva lot more power especially when belting.
working your diaphragm and practicing a lot, you can hold a note like no other

when you breathe...
make sure your shoulders don't go up and down....that means you're only using a small portion of your lungs

your stomach should go in and out....that means you're using the full capacity of your lungs

breathe in....tummy out and vice versa...

you get a really large sound. Its a vibration you can feel, but not shaking.

you'll feel it in your upper stomach, and everyones right about your shoulders not moving.
